Blurb
Fletcher Adams is not just the man that stole my heart at fifteen and never gave it back.

He’s also my brother’s best friend, and now one of the most famous players in the NFL.

But now he’s back in Blossom Peak for our mutual friend’s wedding, and guess who are the maid of honor and best man?

That would be us.

I’ve spent the past twelve years ignoring what happened between us that fateful night, and avoiding him as much as possible when he did pop into town to visit.

But now he’s everywhere.

In my salon getting a massage to support my business.

Participating in yoga to support my family’s winery.

And even hacking into my phone to monitor my glucose—which makes me furious and also a little bit weak in the knees.

Then he finds out that my ex-fiancé never satisfied me in the bedroom, so he instantly volunteers for the job.

Turns out time couldn’t snuff the flames that still burned between us.

But Fletcher has demons from his past he hasn’t faced, the kind that you can try to bury but always manage to get washed up in a storm.

And this storm just might destroy us both.

There’s one thing we can’t deny however, even though we try—feelings still matter, even after all this time.

MY REVIEW

Laney and He Who Shall Not Be Named aka Lucifer aka Fletcher have been enemies of a sort for over a decade, since that night when Laney bared her soul to him and he betrayed her. Now he's back home for their friend's wedding, and they have to work together, being that they're the maid of honor and best man. All Laney has to do is get through the next few weeks, then Fletcher will go back to the NFL, and everything will be fine. Except not, because the time has come for Fletcher to finally come to terms with his feelings and do something about them.

Fletcher never told his guy friends his horrible secret, but Laney was a different story. There was something that always drew him to her, making it easy to tell her things he didn't tell anyone else, and it's still the same now. Except everything's different. She hates him now and he doesn't know why. He may only be in town for a few weeks, but he's going to use this time to dig back into their relationship, figure out why she won't look him in the eye, and get her on the same page - that they belong to each other.

What an emotional rollercoaster Laney and Fletcher took me on! Though Laney resisted, Fletcher persisted, in the sweetest, most delicious ways, and she knew as well as her friend Dilynne, that she was no match for their chemistry and Fletcher's determination. They may not have been a true couple back then, but those feelings were very much there, had only gotten stronger in the decade + since, and I was on the edge of my seat wondering how they were going to get back together and what the fallout would be when her brother found out. Thank God Harlow took pity on them (and my heart) and didn't drag it out, instead used it in a beautiful way, with the men dealing with their feelings and their friendships. I honestly wish more authors would portray men like this - able to talk about their feelings with each other, unafraid of being seen as "weak" when doing so. Brother's best friend, second chance of sorts, and enemies to lovers - tropes that are catnip for this reader, and I loved every word of her making him work for her his second chance, him showing up and being swoony (and naughty), and all the loving support from their friends and families.

Meet Harlow James
Steamy Romance Author

Harlow James is a pen name I use to protect my identity as a high school teacher. Keeping those two roles in my life separate is necessary, but also fun! It’s like a live two lives, and anonymity gives me the opportunity to be bold and take risks in my stories.

I stumbled upon romance novels in 2018 when I picked up Driven by Kristy Bromberg, and I was obsessed. I had just lost my grandmother too, so reading offered me an escape from reality and a chance to grieve on my own terms.

About a year later, I got an idea for my own book and started writing. I researched self-publishing and jumped in with both feet. I had no idea what I was doing!

But now I’ve built a business and hobby that I LOVE! I have an outlet that’s just for me. When I write, I’m not a mom, a wife, or a teacher…I’m a woman who gets to tell stories that no one else can.

My books are the perfect blend of heartwarming moments, full-bellied laughs, and PLENTY of steam to melt your Kindles 😉 And there are always elements of me sprinkled in to every character and story that I write.

When I’m not writing you can find me reading or spending time in my kitchen. I love to cook and feed my family and friends. Otherwise, you can find me watching comedy specials with my husband, camping with our kids, or taking naps. I live for naps 😉

Review: Waiting for You by Kate McBrien

Review of Waiting for You by Kate McBrien Justin and Lucy are apart, but for how long? Lucy's staying with her parents, but knows she needs to get out and start living her life again. But when she gets a chance to go to London, it just may be her chance to reunite with the man whose soul has been entwined with hers for centuries upon centuries. But first, our two fated lovers will have to not only reunite, but stay together, beat the odds and the people and/or forces who are trying to keep them apart. Waiting for You is a great followup to Discovering You. Justin and Lucy's story is exciting and passionate, and the mystical/fantasy/paranormal aspect just adds another interesting layer to their already wonderful connection. I normally don't read a lot of paranormal/fantasy/sci-fi romance anymore, but I loved it here in Waiting for You. It's subtle, but ever present and as I said, just makes their story all the more intriguing. I can't wait for the conclusio...
