My life is basically a three-item to-do list:
1. Keep my eight-year-old daughter happy.
2. Keep my job at the elementary school.
3. Keep my big, scary dream of being a full-time artist locked up where it can’t break my heart.

Easy. Manageable. Drama-free.

And then Fisher Wright strolls into Star Falls.

Tall. Charming. British. The kind of dangerously attractive that should come with a warning label—or maybe a hazmat suit in my size. He’s here for eight weeks, helping a famous music superstar record her next album.

We have one harmless, flirty conversation at the local bar.
Then it’s wine on my porch.
Then stolen kisses by the falls.
Then… oh no, actual feelings. The big, messy, life-complicating kind I swore I didn’t have time for.

But his life is in New York. Mine is here. And long-distance fairytales? Please. They don’t come true — especially when there’s a kid involved.

So why is he making secret plans to get my art in front of Manhattan’s elite?
Why am I suddenly imagining him at my daughter’s soccer games?
And why does it feel like the only temporary thing here… is the eight-week expiration date we agreed on?

Small-town slow burn. Single mom sunshine and a grumpy Brit. Steamy porch kisses. And one very inconvenient, completely irresistible love.

MY REVIEW

Juniper's a single mom in a small Colorado town, making it work. Then a hot Brit music mogul waltzes into town and sweet talks his way into her life and her heart. But both of them know that their fling won't, cannot, go further than the here and now. Fisher's only in town for a short time while one of his stars is recording her album. He'll go back to New York, and Juniper will stay here with Riley. Their lives don't mesh, do they?

This is a sweet, low angst, sexy read. Juniper comes a long way during a relatively short time - realizing she'd been using her single mom status as a reason to not chase her dreams. Then Fisher comes along and is so supportive even during just the little time they have together, and helps her come out of her shell. Speaking of Fisher... he is so freaking swoony! Sweet, supportive, great with Riley, AND the delicious accent?! Of course Juniper fell for him, there's no way she wasn't going to fall, hard, as hard as he falls for her. The billionaires of the Colorado Club are yummy, and Jack's story is next - I'm definitely excited for that.

Review: Waiting for You by Kate McBrien

Review of Waiting for You by Kate McBrien Justin and Lucy are apart, but for how long? Lucy's staying with her parents, but knows she needs to get out and start living her life again. But when she gets a chance to go to London, it just may be her chance to reunite with the man whose soul has been entwined with hers for centuries upon centuries. But first, our two fated lovers will have to not only reunite, but stay together, beat the odds and the people and/or forces who are trying to keep them apart. Waiting for You is a great followup to Discovering You. Justin and Lucy's story is exciting and passionate, and the mystical/fantasy/paranormal aspect just adds another interesting layer to their already wonderful connection. I normally don't read a lot of paranormal/fantasy/sci-fi romance anymore, but I loved it here in Waiting for You. It's subtle, but ever present and as I said, just makes their story all the more intriguing. I can't wait for the conclusio...
