Lane “Gavin” Knight is the hottest new defenseman for the LA Champions hockey team. He’s my cousin Maverick’s best friend, and by trick of fate, my new roommate.
But just because he caught me when I fell off the “Welcome Back” parade float in my International Princess crown doesn’t mean he’s a hero.
I know him better than that.

Hayden “Haddy” Bradford is the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen.
She’s a princess, a brilliant scientist… And she hates me.
Until a purple-drink-fueled Halloween hook-up changes both of our lives.
It’s something I’ve wanted a long time, but I never dreamed I’d have it with her.

Still, I’m the master of high-risk, high-reward plays, and I’ll do what it takes to show her I’m not the man she thinks I am.
I’m there for her every step of the way, supporting, holding her hand, doing my best to show her my true self.
I told her I’d catch her when she falls, but no one is catching me—and I’m falling fast.
I’m headed straight into the offensive zone. Everything I want is at stake, but I’m committed to this puck battle, and I intend to win.

(Pinch is a hockey romance with enemies to lovers, roommates to lovers, a cocky bad-boy Hero, a sassy STEM/pageant-princess FMC, an accidental pregnancy, foster dogs, family, and loads of spicy fun. No cheating, no cliffhanger, and no third-act breakup.)

MY REVIEW

Haddy (Raven and Hen's daughter in The Way We Collide) takes after her mother in that she's a pageant princess. She's also smart af, a woman of STEM, and dislikes professional hockey player, Gavin. Too bad for her Gavin's just become her new roommate thanks to her cousin/roommate Maverick who happens to be Gavin's teammate on LA Champions and best friend. She thought she had Gavin read, but perhaps she was wrong, had been misled by someone who was supposed to be her friend. And when Maverick's tricky purple drink has them indulging in the chemistry she's been ignoring, they'll find out their true feelings for each other.

Gavin's been attracted to Haddy for far longer than she's ever known. She's always seen him as someone he isn't, and now that they're in close proximity all the time, he's dying for the chance to show her he's not the jerk she's always thought he was. Then Maverick's little drink gives him even more chances to prove he's the man for her, and their soon to come baby, that he isn't going anywhere.

"Haddy's mine, and I am Haddy's. It's our branch, the start of something new. The start of our forever."

The next generation of the Bradfords starts off with an adorable couple in Haddy and Gavin. I love that she's a pageant princess and a smart, STEM scientist brainiac - we need far more heroines in fiction (and real life) in STEM - and that Gavin not only sees her, but absolutely loves every facet about her. It was obvious from their first interaction that he was far different than she realized, and was going to turn her world upside down, and damn did he, but in only the best ways. He set about quietly and deliciously breaking down all of Haddy's walls and finally claiming her heart, while handing her his own. No one does family quite like Tia - large, loving families who are there for each other, and never, ever give up on each other. The Bradford ogs (Hen and Raven, Dylan, etc.) and their offspring have some loveable new additions here, and I'm so excited to read cousin Gigi's story with her own hockey player, next.

Review: Waiting for You by Kate McBrien

Review of Waiting for You by Kate McBrien Justin and Lucy are apart, but for how long? Lucy's staying with her parents, but knows she needs to get out and start living her life again. But when she gets a chance to go to London, it just may be her chance to reunite with the man whose soul has been entwined with hers for centuries upon centuries. But first, our two fated lovers will have to not only reunite, but stay together, beat the odds and the people and/or forces who are trying to keep them apart. Waiting for You is a great followup to Discovering You. Justin and Lucy's story is exciting and passionate, and the mystical/fantasy/paranormal aspect just adds another interesting layer to their already wonderful connection. I normally don't read a lot of paranormal/fantasy/sci-fi romance anymore, but I loved it here in Waiting for You. It's subtle, but ever present and as I said, just makes their story all the more intriguing. I can't wait for the conclusio...
