Blurb
In the small town of High Lonesome, gossip spreads like wildfire… and it's about to send our relationship up in flames.

A second chance with Rory Kelley should have been the ultimate win. Ten years after she stomped on my heart and handed me my “freedom,” we were finally back on track... but thanks to the local rumor mill, now she thinks I’ve been keeping secrets.

And okay, fine, I have—but it’s complicated. Like, “drag out my messy past, risk losing the love of my life, and maybe burn down my future” complicated. And while I'm over here trying to work up the nerve to spill my guts, her family lobs their own grenade of a family secret into the middle of this circus.

Now, Rory’s drowning in drama while I’m stuck wondering if telling her the truth will bring us closer…

…or blow everything up like the finale of a bad reality show.

Fans of Meghan Quinn and Claire Kingsley, buckle up for a wild ride packed with laugh-out-loud drama when rekindled first love crashes headfirst into the mess we call real life.

MY REVIEW

Nate and Rory's second chance story continues in Not His to Keep, and things are going along happily. Until they aren't. Now Nate has to figure out what just happened, and how to convince Rory to listen to him, and forgive him, all for something he isn't even sure he knows what is.

I was really rooting for these two to get together, then stay together. There were a lot of obstacles in this second part, the main one being Rory's absolute stubbornness and refusal to just hear Nate out. Communication, or I guess, miscommunication, can be a tool to move a storyline along, but here, it just halted it, to my frustration. And then came the cliffhanger, another source of frustration. So, in a nutshell, things were going well (with some adorable animals!), then they weren't, then they got on track, then the cliffhanger. Sigh...but I am very impatient now to find out how, if, they figure things out in Not Yours to Carry.

Review: One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti

Review of One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti ONE LITTLE LIE Hollis is a good girl with a crush on a broody musician. Unfortunately, that boy, Adam, hates her. Why? Because the chip on his shoulder leaves him thinking good girl, rich girl Hollis is a lemming like everyone else in their small town. Which makes it even more unfortunate when years after their high school encounter, Hollis' best friend tries to stick up for her and ends up telling her parents that Adam is the the boyfriend Hollis doesn't actually have. Oops. How will Hollis ever convince Adam to go along with her little lie? I really liked One Little Lie. Hollis is a really naive girl, but she has such a huge heart that I couldn't help but fall in love with her spirit. She's so sweet, so compassionate, the kind of person this world needs more of. Adam, on the other hand, eh, he didn't do much for me. His chip on the shoulder, broody asshole attitude did nothing to endear me to him, but because H...
