Review of Tomboy (The Hartigans Book 3) by Avery Flynn
Fallon isn't very thrilled when the favor her friend Lucy asks of her is to go take care of Zach Blackburn, defenseman of the Ice Knights pro hockey team, the most hated man in Harbor City. And when she investigates and finds that he was given food poisoning by a woman he slept with who has a rival team's, Cajun Rage, tattoo? Yeah she's really not thrilled. And she can just tell that he's not going to be any more likable than she had thought. And so after a weekend of her caring for his ungrateful ass, Lucy walks away.
But Zach's different after. He plays amazingly and he gets it into his head that Lucy's his good luck charm. Will she go for the proposition he has for her? To come to his games so he can soak up her good luck vibes? What about when she negotiates him into volunteering at the clinic with her? As the two start to get to know each other, somehow the sparks neither wanted, ignite, and Zach starts showing Lucy he's not such a bad guy, even if he has a secret he's desperately embarrassed about, one that he doesn't want anyone to know about.
I absolutely loved Tomboy!! It's by far my favorite of the Hartigans series and Zach and Lucy are by far my favorite couple in the series. They're perfect together with the kind of chemistry you can only dream of having with your significant other. Lucy may be a tomboy, but she's the perfect heroine - smart, sweet, strong and has the hugest heart. So it's only fitting that Avery Flynn gave her the perfect hero to complement her. Zach is growly and defensive but he's got a heart as big as Lucy's, and he loves hard. Tomboy is the very best kind of romantic comedy - funny, witty but sweet, and sexy with a whole cast of A+ characters whose hearts are lovable as their gorgeous outer selves.
