Review of Sins of Omission (Sub Mission Book 2) by T.S. McKinney
When Eli crashes back into Ari's (Arizona's) life, Ari does what he does best - runs. You see, Ari lied about a very important detail back in the day, and caused Eli to walk away from him. Ari knows that there's no way that Eli's back to claim him, why would Eli still want him? So he thinks Eli must have some sinister motive instead, and he wants nothing to do with it or with Eli (or so he says to himself). But, Eli's way too quick for his own good, and doesn't let Ari slip through his fingers again. And when he catches Ari, he's intent on proving to Ari how much he loves him. Will Ari give in, tell his insecurities to take a hike, and take a chance on what could be the best thing in his life? If he's smart, and more mature than he used to be, he will.
But for this relationship to work, but men will have to be completely honest and transparent with each other and Eli's not quite letting Ari in on some of his deeper desires, some of his kinks. When Ari finds out, will it push him away? Will Ari run like he tends to do? You'll have to read to find out!
I mostly liked Sins of Omission. It's hot and fast-paced and I loved most of the characters, including the secondary ones. The only reason for 4 rather than 5 stars is because of the one character I didn't like - Ari. He drove me bonkers with his immaturity and self-absorption. He acted more like a 16-year-old than a 20-year-old. No, scratch that, my nephew is 16 and he's a lot more mature than Ari is. Ari knew his lie in the beginning was wrong, knew it was what drove Eli away and yet he didn't even admit he was wrong until about 75%, and even then he really wasn't all that sorry. Yuck. His character was pretty horrible and Eli deserved much, much better. I'm still not sure what Eli even saw in Ari. But, Eli did love him so I can kinda give him a pass. Aside from my dislike of Ari, though, I liked everything else about Sins of Omission and am looking forward to more of this series and more from this author.
