Review / Release Blitz: The Ideal by L.P. Maxa

The Ideal by L.P. Maxa is now live!
Nate's world is dark and his only bright light, his only saving grace is Savannah, but when she falls for his brother Jeremy, she leaves Nate without a lifeline, and that's something none of them can survive.

FROM DARKNESS TO LIGHT

Recent high school graduate, Savannah Nightingale loves her best friend Nate Deacon, but he's an emotional drain.

Dark, angry, and volatile, keeping him in line over the last twelve years has taken its toll. He's doesn't get along with people, and she's the only person he interacts with on the regular.

She's the only one who can pull him back from the edge before he snaps.

His older brother Jeremy is the complete opposite. Happy, fun-loving, and laidback, when he's home from college for the summer, he starts hanging out with Savy. Jeremy wants to free her from Nate's dark hold, and wants to help her have some long overdue fun...then finds himself surprisingly in love.

When Nate reacts badly, turns out, Jeremy will do anything for the girl he loves.

MY REVIEW
Only one person has ever been close to Nate - his best friend, Savannah. But he's got a stranglehold on her and her life because she's the only person who can calm him and that means she's not free to live her own life according to what she wants. And then Nate's older brother, Jeremy, comes home from college for the summer, and things change. Love is in the air, but how will Nate take it? Do they even want to tell him for fear of how he'll react?

I gotta say that I was cringing while reading most of this because I just knew how Nate was going to react, and when he did what I knew he would, quite frankly, I was pissed. The signs were obvious from the first page that nothing good could come of the way everyone refused to see the real Nate. They were all enablers and I knew it was going to end badly. Ugh. Really the only things I liked about this story were Jeremy and Savannah and how sweet their relationship was, I just wish it hadn't been tainted by the overwhelming dark shadow that was Nate.

Review: Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette (American Revolutionary Tales 2) by Regina Kammer

Review of Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette by Regina Kammer Captain Samuel Taylor and Lieutenant Patrick Hamilton recall their first steamy encounter, which was a MFM threesome in a brothel. It morphed into more and now the two are contemplating their futures with the women they love, and their futures with each other. If you think times are hard for the LGBT community now, think of how hard they were during the American Revolution. Winter Interlude is well developed, which is surprising given its short length. I am so interested in knowing what is to become of Samuel and Patrick's forbidden relationship. Do they stay together? Or do they go their separate ways, and live out their lives with their women? Now that they've admitted their love for each other, how impossible would it be for them to be without each other? I have to know, now! If you like MM fiction and/or historical fiction, I highly recommend you give Winter Interlude a read. It...
