One second, he had everything.
The next, it was torn away.
Oliver James was at the peak of his career, captain of the Baltimore Breakers, minutes away from winning another Cup. Then one hit had derailed all that.
All he’d ever known was hockey, and he didn’t know where he fit in a world where playing was no longer a possibility. But then he was offered a chance to bring hockey back into his life. A shot at starting over.
The only condition of that second chance was required meetings with the team psychologist, Hazel.
She was exactly the kind of woman he might have once lusted after—beautiful, kind, a body that screamed sex. She made him feel whole, like a man again.
Except, she wasn’t interested in him outside of being a patient.
Well then, Oliver would just have to convince her otherwise.

MY REVIEW
Oliver's being offered something that has the potential to make his life better. When he hears one of the conditions of this new opportunity is sessions with a psychologist, he's not thrilled, until he finds out just who that psychologist is, then he's all in. After all, the psychologist is Hazel, the only woman he's been interested in in a long time. Now he'll just have to use those sessions to convince her that not only is he really OK after having rehabbed his lost leg and subsequent prosthetic limb to the point that he walks with barely a hitch, his emotional and mental health are just as good as his physical, but, and this is the important part, he will convince her that they should be much more than just psychologist and patient.
Hazel's been attracted to the quietly confident Oliver for awhile now, but never had done anything about it because. Because reasons. The first being that she used to be engaged. She's not engaged any longer, but that's neither here nor there. The second being that she's the team psychologist. Oliver may not be a player any longer, but he is being offered the head of player development position and that still means a relationship between the two of them is forbidden. Will they step over that line?
Boldly is, dare I say it, inspirational. Oliver and Hazel are such wonderful characters with strength of mind, and heart, and they were perfect for each other. Oliver had such a heartbreaking backstory, but he persevered, never giving up his integrity, never allowing his loss to overwhelm him or turn him bitter. Hazel was equally strong, with a loving heart. Their chemistry is smoking hot, but really the best part of their story is their emotional connection and the strength of their individual characters and how they both fought through loss and adversity, and found happiness and healing with each other.
