Review / Release Blitz: Fallout (The Everyday Heroes World) by Rhian Cahill

Rhian Cahill's Fallout is now live!

The past brought them together. It could also tear them apart.

Jake Conners is ready to put the past behind him and give his son—the one good thing to come out of a disastrous relationship—the best he can. Moving to Sunnyville to rebuild their lives and repair the friendship his ex ruined is the new beginning they both need.

Mallory Dawson is in Sunnyville to make amends for her stepsister. She never meant to get close to Jacob or Maddox but living in the garage apartment of their new house keeps her in constant contact and as each day passes, she's pulled into their lives and closer to the duo.

The last thing either of them wants is a relationship, but as their friendship grows their connection becomes harder to deny. With each encounter Jake’s heart opens more and Mallory’s love for Maddox is one the toddler never received from anyone other than Jake.

But when Mallory's link to Jake’s past is revealed the fallout leaves her without a place to live and a broken heart. With the threat her family represents, she's forced to accept the budding relationship the three of them have is gone.

Devastated and with no hope of getting the thing she wants most—a family with Jacob and Maddox—Mallory is willing to put everything—including her life—on the line to ensure her stepsister can never again hurt the two people she loves most.

Rhian Cahill’s Fallout is an emotional, single dad, second chance contemporary romance written in K. Bromberg’s Everyday Heroes Worlds project.

MY REVIEW

Mallory's come to see about setting up a possible meeting between her stepmother and her stepsister's son. She wants to make amends for all the horrible things her stepsister has done to Maddox and his father, but she has to be delicate about it. She knows she should just tell Jake who she really is, but after forging a connection with them, she just can't seem to find the right time to do so. Things will implode once her real connection to them comes out, but until then, she'll just have to make sure she gets everything in place for Maddox, and will just have to live with the fallout afterward.

This is a sweet story. I appreciated the fact that they connected on an emotional level, but the lack of intensity (steam) caused me to wonder just how strong their feelings really were. Still, the writing was great and the characters very likable, so 3.5 stars is fair.

Meet Rhian Cahill
Rhian Cahill is the alter ego of a former stay-at-home mother of four. With motherly duties rapidly dwindling Rhian is able to make use of the fertile imagination she used to keep herself sane for all those years of slavery.

Having spent some years living overseas and visiting tropical climates has helped inspire some steamy stories. Multi-published in erotic, contemporary and paranormal romance, Rhian, with the help of Mr. Muse, spends her days and nights writing.

When not glued to the keyboard you'll find her book or knitting in hand avoiding any and all housework as much as possible.

Review: One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti

Review of One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti ONE LITTLE LIE Hollis is a good girl with a crush on a broody musician. Unfortunately, that boy, Adam, hates her. Why? Because the chip on his shoulder leaves him thinking good girl, rich girl Hollis is a lemming like everyone else in their small town. Which makes it even more unfortunate when years after their high school encounter, Hollis' best friend tries to stick up for her and ends up telling her parents that Adam is the the boyfriend Hollis doesn't actually have. Oops. How will Hollis ever convince Adam to go along with her little lie? I really liked One Little Lie. Hollis is a really naive girl, but she has such a huge heart that I couldn't help but fall in love with her spirit. She's so sweet, so compassionate, the kind of person this world needs more of. Adam, on the other hand, eh, he didn't do much for me. His chip on the shoulder, broody asshole attitude did nothing to endear me to him, but because H...

He’d taken it off the market and moved in before I got there. I just never got the memo. Unfortunately, there was no other place in town available, so Evan let me stay. Evan—the guy my parents took in years a...
