★★★★★ “As soon as I finished the prequel to the "Carolina Classics" series, I knew the series and characters were going to be all that and a bag of chips. "You Get What You Give" is a fun and nostalgic story set in the late 1990s that brought me back to my favorite era.” - Bookbub review

When a sleepy southern coastal town is crowned the Hollywood of the East worlds collide and sparks fly, especially for two casting directors who end up playing the roles of accidental rivals.

It’s not just that the town isn’t quite big enough for the two of them. Violet Davenport brings deep roots, local allies, and old-fashioned Southern charm to the table. Nate Fowler’s got deep pockets, tech knowhow, and a family that’s worked in movies since the silent film days.

For their business—and their hearts—to survive, they'll have to overcome both a bitter hostility and a sweet insta-attraction.

In this enemies-to-lovers, new-in-town, one-night-stand improbable love story, a boss lady and a Hollywood nerd find that you only get as good as you give.

MY REVIEW

Violet's finally finding some luck with her casting business. Getting to cast a show is a dream come true. Then she finds out the gorgeous guy she had an even more gorgeous night with is her new rival. His family is Hollywood casting royalty and is opening a branch in her town. HER town. How can she possibly compete with Nate's family legacy, with their money and connections? Is there a way she and Nate can make rivalry into a bona fide relationship?

Nate's been looking for acceptance and love from his father his entire life. Moving to this small town to open a new branch of their company is just another way of trying to gain those things. But things get a little, shall we say...derailed, when he finds out the woman he can't get out of his head runs a rival casting firm. Now he just has to find a way to run his branch, convince Violet he's not the enemy, and figure out what his place in life is.

Ah the 90s...You Get What You Give brings to mind all the goodness, the warmth of that decade. I was in my 20s during the 90s, so this series is giving me all the fun memories I have of that time period. Violet and Nate are so lovable, such a perfect fit for that era. There's some heat, a bit of drama, and lots of interesting characters that surround our adorable couple. I'm already giddy with anticipation for the next in this series, Hold On To Me.

Review: Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette (American Revolutionary Tales 2) by Regina Kammer

Review of Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette by Regina Kammer Captain Samuel Taylor and Lieutenant Patrick Hamilton recall their first steamy encounter, which was a MFM threesome in a brothel. It morphed into more and now the two are contemplating their futures with the women they love, and their futures with each other. If you think times are hard for the LGBT community now, think of how hard they were during the American Revolution. Winter Interlude is well developed, which is surprising given its short length. I am so interested in knowing what is to become of Samuel and Patrick's forbidden relationship. Do they stay together? Or do they go their separate ways, and live out their lives with their women? Now that they've admitted their love for each other, how impossible would it be for them to be without each other? I have to know, now! If you like MM fiction and/or historical fiction, I highly recommend you give Winter Interlude a read. It...

There’s no one more off limits than my best friend’s daughter. Peggy Aurora Hammerstein. The Toronto Terror’s unofficial team princess. I see her as she is now: a powerful woman with ambition for miles. When I hold he...
