Review: Never for Him (Hope Valley #12) by Jessica Prince

Title: Never For Him
Series: Hope Valley
Author: Jessica Prince
Contemporary Romance; Small Town Romance

Serenity Ryan was ready for a fresh start. When the chance at a new life came knocking on her door, she was all too happy to answer. She had a new job, a new apartment, and a new outlook on life. She also had a bone deep crush on the last remaining bachelor of Alpha Omega. He was the brooding hero in every love story ever written, and she wanted nothing more than to be the heroine who healed his wounds.

Hunter McCann knew better than most what it felt like to lose what’s most important. He’d lost family to tragedy, his brothers in battle, and the heart of the only woman he’d ever loved. To protect himself from ever having to experience that kind of pain again, he erected walls around his heart. Then a fiery woman with a loud mouth and a wild spirit decided to scale those walls.

Hunter never wanted to love again, but something about Serenity Ryan has grabbed on and refuses to let go. When danger comes to Hope Valley and threatens her safety, Hunter is determined to protect the woman he’s falling for. Because this is one loss he knows he can’t come back from.

Serenity "Sere" has come to Hope Valley to start over, to be near her sister Stella (When You Least Expect It). Since she and her family have left the grifting life they previously lived, she's free to forge a new path for her. Then she spies a gorgeous Hunter and she finds herself wanting him to go along with that new path. But, as Stella lets her know, Hunter is the least likely person to let someone in. He's notoriously private even with his friends and colleagues. How can she ever hope to slip past his defenses?

Hunter doesn't let people in but there's something about Sere. Though he's been resisting her pull, when it becomes clear she's in danger, suddenly his resistance is gone. Now he's going to protect her, claim her and ultimately, give his heart to her.

Damn, what a couple, what a story, to end this epic series with. Hunter and Sere are such a compelling pair, each with their own scars and damage, but with hearts just waiting to find their forever partner. I've loved this small town series, all the men and women who found love and joy, and Hunter and Sere just made me tear up knowing the series has come to its conclusion, and what an excellent conclusion it is.

Born and raised around Houston Texas, Jessica spent most of her life complaining about the heat, humidity, and all around pain in the ass weather. It was only as an adult that she quickly realized the cost of living in Houston made up for not being able to breathe when she stepped outside. That’s why God created central air, after all.

Jessica is the mother of a perfect little boy–she refuses to accept that he inherited her attitude and sarcastic nature no matter what her husband says.

In addition to being a wife and mom, she’s also a wino, a coffee addict, and an avid lover of all types of books–romances still being her all time favs. Her husband likes to claim that reading is her obsession but she just says it’s a passion…there’s a difference. Not that she’d expect a boy to understand.

Jessica has been writing since she was a little girl, but thankfully grew out of drawing her own pictures for her stories before ever publishing her first book. Because an artist she is not.

My book boyfriends go with me everywhere. I prefer them tall, dark, and handsome, but I don’t discriminate. They sweep me off my feet and are always there when I need them—in my purse, in my car, and even in my bathtub. Book boyfriends may not be real, but at least they won’t break my heart… or get another girl pregnant. I don’t do relationships. I get one whiff and run in the opposite direction. It took me seven years to mend my broken heart, and I’m not about to hand it over again. That’s why I can’t fall for Beckett. Review: Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette (American Revolutionary Tales 2) by Regina Kammer

Review of Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette by Regina Kammer Captain Samuel Taylor and Lieutenant Patrick Hamilton recall their first steamy encounter, which was a MFM threesome in a brothel. It morphed into more and now the two are contemplating their futures with the women they love, and their futures with each other. If you think times are hard for the LGBT community now, think of how hard they were during the American Revolution. Winter Interlude is well developed, which is surprising given its short length. I am so interested in knowing what is to become of Samuel and Patrick's forbidden relationship. Do they stay together? Or do they go their separate ways, and live out their lives with their women? Now that they've admitted their love for each other, how impossible would it be for them to be without each other? I have to know, now! If you like MM fiction and/or historical fiction, I highly recommend you give Winter Interlude a read. It

This man's touch had me coming undone. Not only is he tall, brilliant, gorgeous, and sexy as sin, he left me wanting more. He haunts my fantasies until I read about him: Senator Bennett Stone. Armed with his name, I dig for the truth. Stone is from Atlanta and is independently wealthy. A billionaire. He's rumored to be the next vice president. Tasting forbidden fruit, I can't settle for the cloying secrecy of my family. Or their plans for me as a pawn who'll live in a gilded cage where women are expected to look beautiful and keep silent. I have to act fast. Thanks to a connection, Stone is my new boss. He's my ticket to freedom -- if he doesn't fire me on the spot when I reintroduce myself... Xavia Stillman Kennedy.
