Review / Release Blitz: Mad Jack (Men of Action #3) by Ahren Sanders

Title: Mad Jack
Series: Men of Action
Author: Ahren Sanders
Genre: Contemporary/Military/Opposites Attract Romance
Release Date: August 28, 2023

Our story began long before we realized it.

As a Marine, I’m trained in discipline and control.
Until her.
Shy, Brilliant, selfless—Rowan Ellis has no idea how beautiful she is.
The night we met, something awakened feelings inside me I didn’t think possible.
Then an unthinkable tragedy strikes, and I vow to protect her at all costs.
Even if that means protecting her from me.

She thinks she's broken, but she's wrong.

I can't sit back any longer and watch as she stumbles through the motions, her light dying along the way.
So, it happens.
One look, one touch, one kiss… everything changes.
I’m done waiting.
Now it’s all on the line.
I’m prepared to do whatever it takes to give her the life she deserves.

My name is Ford Whitman.
And I never back down from a fight.
Especially when I’m fighting for my forever.

MY REVIEW

Ford has spent the last months trying to give Rowan the space he thinks she needs to heal from the horrible things she's been through. But now the time has come for him to claim her, before, as his friends and his sisters keep telling him, it's too late and someone else makes their move. But before he can even get things started, he fucks it all up. Now he has to figure out how to get it through her head that she's his and to ask for her forgiveness.

For once she put herself out there and heeded her friends' advice, and what happens? Rejection. Now Rowan's doubly sure Ford's completely out of her league. Now their friendship is strained and she can't do anything about it but try to avoid him. So what's she going to do when she realizes she has it all wrong? All that intensity and protective man on the hunt, coming straight at her. She better brace herself...

These Men of Action are hot, protective, and possessive! They're also men, so they screw up, big time. Though Ford screwed up at first, once he realized it (thanks to some much needed pep talks from his guys) he more than redeemed himself in hot, possessive form. But as much as I loved Ford and all his protective intensity, Rowan is the main reason I fell in love with this couple. She's absolutely amazing - strong, always putting others' needs ahead of her own, and facing her demons down instead of running from them. Her chemistry with Mr. Alpha Protective is smokin' hot, there's suspense and action, and a fabulous storyline. This series just keeps getting better. I'm really looking forward to Talon's story now.

Ahren spent her formative years living in an active volcano. There her family made collectible lava art. She studied rock collecting at the Sorbonne in France. There she met the love of her life-her pet pig Sybil. She returned to the states and started writing. She is happily married to a guy who used to live under a bridge and she met while pole-dancing.

Now, meet the real me. I grew up in the south and consider myself a true “Southerner”. Most of the special locations mentioned in my books are reflections of my favorite places. Living on the Florida coast, my family spends a lot time at the beach, which is where I usually can be found with a book in my hand.

Review: One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti

Review of One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti ONE LITTLE LIE Hollis is a good girl with a crush on a broody musician. Unfortunately, that boy, Adam, hates her. Why? Because the chip on his shoulder leaves him thinking good girl, rich girl Hollis is a lemming like everyone else in their small town. Which makes it even more unfortunate when years after their high school encounter, Hollis' best friend tries to stick up for her and ends up telling her parents that Adam is the the boyfriend Hollis doesn't actually have. Oops. How will Hollis ever convince Adam to go along with her little lie? I really liked One Little Lie. Hollis is a really naive girl, but she has such a huge heart that I couldn't help but fall in love with her spirit. She's so sweet, so compassionate, the kind of person this world needs more of. Adam, on the other hand, eh, he didn't do much for me. His chip on the shoulder, broody asshole attitude did nothing to endear me to him, but because H...
