Blurb
Love wasn’t part of the blueprint when high school sweethearts reunite in their small town. But this former military man never forgot the girl he left behind and he’s more determined than ever to rebuild their relationship brick by brick and heart by heart.

Getting locked in the men’s restroom during my mother’s funeral wasn’t exactly how I expected to run into my high school sweetheart. The one who got away. The one who broke my heart.

I could toss the busted doorknob in my hand at him, but I’d prefer to get the heck away. Because twenty years later, Knox Sylver isn’t a teenage boy anymore but a broad-shouldered, thick scruff man with eyes that still look at me like I’m the only person in the room.

As a newly divorced mother of two teenagers, it’s been a long time since anyone sees me. And Knox is definitely watching.

Unfortunately, he made choices in the past and I wasn’t one of them.

According to him, that is ancient history.

Also, according to him, it’s never too late for a second chance. He’s out to prove he’s solid and stable, having returned to our small hometown, in a better place after a career in the military. He’s a local hero as a fireman and he wants to rekindle the flame between us.

I’m the one with decisions this round.

Do I stay where memories hurt? Or do I leave my past, and Knox, behind me again?

From L.B. Dunbar comes an all-new small-town romance with a big family and the silver fox swoon one expects from her love over-40 romances.

MY REVIEW

When the ghost of Halle's past walks back into her life as she's trying to put it back together, it's all she can do to keep her distance from Knox. He broke her heart so thoroughly back in high school that it was a wonder that she managed to get married and have kids after him. But here she is now, a divorced single mom trying to settle back into life, when who waltzes in one day out of the blue but the man she thought was going to be her forever. Now she has to decide if she can open her heart back up to the possibility of the forever she thought she was going to have with Knox at one time.

Knox never thought he'd have a second chance with the only woman he's ever loved, but when he sees her again, he instantly knows he's got to claim this chance now. Though they haven't seen each other in 20 years, when he walked away from her and into the Navy, his love for her has never waned. Now he just has to convince Halle of that, convince her to go all in.

Halle and Knox have to traverse a multitude of obstacles to get their long waited for happiness. They had to let go of the past while not forgetting it, had to forgive themselves and each other, and only then were they able to finally see that forever in their sights. I love their second chance - it's heartfelt and sweet, and Halle and Knox are a fabulous couple who really deserve the happiness they finally found together.

Review: Waiting for You by Kate McBrien

Review of Waiting for You by Kate McBrien Justin and Lucy are apart, but for how long? Lucy's staying with her parents, but knows she needs to get out and start living her life again. But when she gets a chance to go to London, it just may be her chance to reunite with the man whose soul has been entwined with hers for centuries upon centuries. But first, our two fated lovers will have to not only reunite, but stay together, beat the odds and the people and/or forces who are trying to keep them apart. Waiting for You is a great followup to Discovering You. Justin and Lucy's story is exciting and passionate, and the mystical/fantasy/paranormal aspect just adds another interesting layer to their already wonderful connection. I normally don't read a lot of paranormal/fantasy/sci-fi romance anymore, but I loved it here in Waiting for You. It's subtle, but ever present and as I said, just makes their story all the more intriguing. I can't wait for the conclusio...
