I had the world.
Then he told me he wanted a divorce.

I was the first female hockey player in the NHL. I’d broken barriers, kicked butt on the ice, made a family out of a group of grumpy misfits…

But I couldn’t keep my marriage together.
I wasn’t enough for the man who said he’d love me forever.

And now, as strong as I wanted to pretend I was, I wanted to give up, move on, forget everything there was about Stefan.

Only…

Then I found out the real reason he’d left me.

And I knew there had never been any game more important in my life than winning my ex-husband’s heart a second time.

MY REVIEW

Brit is stunned when her husband Stefan asks for a divorce. On top of everything, without a word of why, her husband asks for a divorce?!?!? Now she has to navigate her hockey career, being a single mom, and everything those things entail, all without her partner, her rock, the man she had thought would be by her side forever.

Stefan's been keeping a secret from his wife. It's why he's asked for a divorce, because he thought it would protect her. But did he really think this through? Can he navigate life without his partner, the woman he thought he'd be with forever? Or has he made the biggest mistake of his life? Brit just may surprise him, or she might react the way he had thought, when that secret comes out.

One word came to mind while and after reading - heartbreaking. Stefan's secret is exactly this. The pain it causes both of them is this. The frustration it caused could have been prevented if he had just freaking communicated with his wife! Sorry for the rant, but I was so upset when Stefan's backstory was revealed. And yet, it was understandable and I could easily see anyone making the same choice for the same reason. Brit and Stefan had their happy ever after, then it ended and it was up to Brit to figure out how to get it all back. Was it fair she had to do the heavy lifting? No. But she did it and it made me love and respect her even more. I have been waiting for Brit and Stefan's story for a long time, and I am so glad I finally got to read it. It's a beautiful, heartrending story of strength of character, strength of love.

Book boyfriends may not be real, but at least they won’t break my heart… or get another girl pregnant. I don’t do relationships. I get one whiff and run in the opposite direction. Review: Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette (American Revolutionary Tales 2) by Regina Kammer

Review of Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette by Regina Kammer Captain Samuel Taylor and Lieutenant Patrick Hamilton recall their first steamy encounter, which was a MFM threesome in a brothel. It morphed into more and now the two are contemplating their futures with the women they love, and their futures with each other. If you think times are hard for the LGBT community now, think of how hard they were during the American Revolution. Winter Interlude is well developed, which is surprising given its short length. I am so interested in knowing what is to become of Samuel and Patrick's forbidden relationship. Do they stay together? Or do they go their separate ways, and live out their lives with their women? Now that they've admitted their love for each other, how impossible would it be for them to be without each other? I have to know, now! If you like MM fiction and/or historical fiction, I highly recommend you give Winter Interlude a read. It
