Review / Release Blitz: The Pucker Next Door by Sara Ney

PUCKER NEXT DOOR
Sara Ney
Release Date: April 29
AVAILABLE IN KINDLE UNLIMITED

When a squirrel chews its way through my bedroom wall, I do the first thing any single girl like me would do: run screaming out of the house to the neighbors, begging for help.

I should mention that the house next door is full of hockey players. And when I lock eyes on rough and rugged Brodie Stockhausen—who happens to be outside brooding on the porch—I’m not exactly impressed.

But I’m desperate, in a bathrobe, and need a bit of rescuing.

Soon I’m begging for his help with more than just squirrel duty and DIY projects. I want his attention and his touch—not just his friendship!

I want what every girl wants: him lying in his bed at night, so desperate for me that he’s willing to scale two stories to sneak into my window. Hey, a girl can dream…

But Brodie has a secret; one that leaves me wanting more every time we’re together but has him pulling away…

MY REVIEW

Brodie is not prepared for his neighbor Lizzy to land on his porch asking for help with...a squirrel? Now he's stuck with her staying at his house until they can get rid of the pest, and he's having a hard time with all the close proximity. He hasn't told her his big secret, and it's just sitting there, in his mind, affecting everything. Will she understand? Will she judge him the way he thinks she will?

Lizzy wants Brodie, and she's not above a little stalking to get him. Sure, he's grumpy and not great at communicating, but she's finding that inside he's a sweet teddy bear. If she could get him to open up to her, they might have a chance. She doesn't know his big secret, or why he's holding back, but she does know she really likes the grumpy hockey player with a tender heart.

I don't think I could love Brodie anymore than I do. He's definitely the star of this quirky, sweet romance. Lizzy took awhile to grow on me, but she did eventually win me over. Her alternating sides with all the inner talk were a bit disjointed, but once it was all over I could see she was actually a good character who had her own growth arc. The way they met, and the ongoing squirrel bit is funny and relatable because I have to admit that I'm not that fond of those creatures either, and if I found my place infested with them, I'd seek help too! Brodie's house and teammates, especially Sully, are intriguing, and I'm hoping all of them will get their own stories.

Review: Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette (American Revolutionary Tales 2) by Regina Kammer

Review of Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette by Regina Kammer Captain Samuel Taylor and Lieutenant Patrick Hamilton recall their first steamy encounter, which was a MFM threesome in a brothel. It morphed into more and now the two are contemplating their futures with the women they love, and their futures with each other. If you think times are hard for the LGBT community now, think of how hard they were during the American Revolution. Winter Interlude is well developed, which is surprising given its short length. I am so interested in knowing what is to become of Samuel and Patrick's forbidden relationship. Do they stay together? Or do they go their separate ways, and live out their lives with their women? Now that they've admitted their love for each other, how impossible would it be for them to be without each other? I have to know, now! If you like MM fiction and/or historical fiction, I highly recommend you give Winter Interlude a read. It...

There’s no one more off limits than my best friend’s daughter. Peggy Aurora Hammerstein. The Toronto Terror’s unofficial team princess. I see her as she is now: a powerful woman with ambition for miles. When I hold he...
