MY REVIEW
Spencer's finally managed to escape her horrible, abusive husband, only to land right back in the sights of her first husband, her only love, Tennyson/Tobias. She knew she was breaking his heart when she left him all those years ago, even though she did it to save him, but still...now she can see that choice has had an effect on him. So much so that he hates her. Well, they can hate each other as much as they want, annoy each other as much as possible, but underneath all that is the love they've never been able to purge from their hearts.
Since Spencer left him, betraying him in the worst way, getting him accused of her murder, he's changed from that boy. He's a man now, a wealthy, hardened man, who has revenge in mind. And he's going to take that vengeance out on her, even though he still loves her. But even hardened billionaires can only take so much when the love of their life is in front of them. And soon, even though they're constantly snarking at each other, he's falling back into his feelings for her. And he's going to protect her from the forces who've used her as a pawn in their evil games.
Spencer and Tennyson took the expectations his fellow billionaire, Van, set in A Vicious Proposal, and met them and then exceeded them. Like in that story, these two have that enemies vibe, the vengeance vibe, and the snarky tension that hides an enduring love, but they carve their own little niche in their world. Spencer is badass - a sassy, strong woman who had endured so much at the hands of her father and Victor, and just wanted her freedom. Tennyson couldn't have been more perfect for her - even though he claimed to hate her, and wanted her to hurt like he had, it was obvious from their first reunion that he still loved her far more than he was willing to admit. The Fallen Kings of Eden have had 2 excellent stories, giving intriguing looks into what made them the way they are. Bach, secretive, mysterious Bach's story is next, and I'm very impatiently waiting for it now.
