Review: Lost in You (Minnesota Mammoths #1) by Brenda Rothert

Lost in You, book 1 of the new Minnesota Mammoths series by Brenda Rothert, is NOW LIVE!

I’ve got one job: protect the younger sister of my best friend and team captain. Then our private plane crashes in southern Alaska, and we’re the lone survivors.

The two of us are the unlikeliest of partners when we find ourselves stranded in the unforgiving Alaskan wilderness. My hockey playing skills are of no use here, where the bitter cold is my new opponent. And Trinity Lorenzo? She’s about as warm as a block of ice. I get it, she’s fleeing an abusive boyfriend and she and I are strangers. But I always keep my word, and I promised Dalton I’d keep his prickly sister safe. If we want to live, the two of us will have to find a way to get along and work together.
Our ordeal draws Trinity and me closer, and fighting the pull between us becomes harder than anything we face while hoping for rescue. Whether we make it out or not, I need her. More than water or shelter—more than anything. Dalton will never forgive me if I cross the line with her, but surviving means something different now. Surviving means making her mine.

MY REVIEW

When Trinity's brother Dalton finds out her stalker is still bothering her, he sends her back home from Alaska with an escort, his friend and teammate Lincoln. Unfortunately for them, their plane runs into trouble and now they're stuck in a remote cabin in the wilderness trying to figure out how to survive until help comes. Their natural chemistry is testing their will, and they're about to find out just how strong their feelings are for each other, her off-limits status be damned.

While in forced confines, Trinity and Lincoln discovered much about each other, and fell in love, thinking they probably would live out the rest of their short lives there. But now they're back in the real world, out of the bubble they had been forced into, and there are questions. How can they be together in the public eye?

I was so not expecting this emotional story. It's so out of the norm box of hockey romances, forbidden brother's friend romances, in a wonderful way. The mental and emotional health rep is perfect here, with Trinity's anxiety written with an eye toward understanding and accepting, but without too much heaviness. But for me, the star is Lincoln. He's such a sweetheart, and so intent on being there for Trinity, even in the beginning when she was so prickly with him. Lost in You is a great start to this new hockey series, and it has me really excited to read all the other teammates' stories now, especially Dalton's.

Review: Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette (American Revolutionary Tales 2) by Regina Kammer

Review of Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette by Regina Kammer Captain Samuel Taylor and Lieutenant Patrick Hamilton recall their first steamy encounter, which was a MFM threesome in a brothel. It morphed into more and now the two are contemplating their futures with the women they love, and their futures with each other. If you think times are hard for the LGBT community now, think of how hard they were during the American Revolution. Winter Interlude is well developed, which is surprising given its short length. I am so interested in knowing what is to become of Samuel and Patrick's forbidden relationship. Do they stay together? Or do they go their separate ways, and live out their lives with their women? Now that they've admitted their love for each other, how impossible would it be for them to be without each other? I have to know, now! If you like MM fiction and/or historical fiction, I highly recommend you give Winter Interlude a read. It...
