Charlie
It was supposed to be a regular day out.
Three couples celebrating the last days of summer.
When tragedy struck.
I thought I was going to marry her.
Instead, I was burying her.
I blamed the world for my pain.
I buried it all.
I became a man I didn’t even recognize.
Autumn
In a blink of an eye, everything changed.
My best friend was gone, and I was responsible for it.
I may not have been driving the truck, but I didn’t stop it.
Escaping the town was the only thing I could do to survive the guilt.
I thought I was strong enough to go back.
I was wrong.
One look from him and I knew I wasn’t welcome.
But this is my home, and I wanted to come back.
One night turned into more. But at the end of the day, I know he’ll never love me.
Besides, we all have shattered dreams.

MY REVIEW

Autumn gets the call from her brother and knows she has to come home to help with her father, to the place she's been avoiding for years, since the tragic accident that took her best friend. While at home she comes face to face with the man who appears to still hate her and blame her for the accident that changed everything. Will Charlie ever actually talk to her to get the real story, or spend the rest of their lives hating her, blaming her for something that wasn't her fault?

Charlie has never been the same since he lost his girlfriend in a tragic accident. He's spent the years since blaming Autumn, and grieving his first and only love. But when Autumn comes back home, he's finally forced to confront his demons, both of them must face their baggage. And not just their baggage, but their feelings that have evolved. If he wants to keep the woman he's just realized he loves, he will have to come to terms with realizing he has room in his heart for his first love and his new love. And he'll need to convince Autumn that she doesn't have to compete with a ghost.

I should have expected just how angsty and heartbreaking Autumn and Charlie's story would be simply from the blurb, but my heart nearly broke while reading and I almost couldn't take it at times. Poor Autumn had it rough when she came home thanks to Charlie's nearly irredeemable behavior toward her. But she's a strong heroine with a backbone and a big heart, and she persevered. I wanted to hug her and smack Charlie and was on the edge of my seat wondering just how Natasha was going to give Charlie a redemption arc. Of course she came through and the man took his head out of his ass and realized how wrong he had been, and how amazing Autumn was. I am not normally a fan of dead friend's ex trope, but it works here because Charlie truly does have room in his heart for both of them, and they definitely weren't involved before. Autumn's brother Brady is up next, and I can't wait now to read as he falls in love.

Meet Natasha Madison
When her nose isn’t buried in a book, or her fingers flying across a keyboard writing, she’s in the kitchen creating gourmet meals. You can find her, in four inch heels no less, in the car chauffeuring kids, or possibly with her husband scheduling his business trips. It’s a good thing her characters do what she says, because even her Labrador doesn’t listen to her…

Review: Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette (American Revolutionary Tales 2) by Regina Kammer

Review of Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette by Regina Kammer Captain Samuel Taylor and Lieutenant Patrick Hamilton recall their first steamy encounter, which was a MFM threesome in a brothel. It morphed into more and now the two are contemplating their futures with the women they love, and their futures with each other. If you think times are hard for the LGBT community now, think of how hard they were during the American Revolution. Winter Interlude is well developed, which is surprising given its short length. I am so interested in knowing what is to become of Samuel and Patrick's forbidden relationship. Do they stay together? Or do they go their separate ways, and live out their lives with their women? Now that they've admitted their love for each other, how impossible would it be for them to be without each other? I have to know, now! If you like MM fiction and/or historical fiction, I highly recommend you give Winter Interlude a read. It...
