Blurb

Rumor has it I tamed the campus devil.

They’re not entirely wrong. Maverick Lexington is ruthless, brilliant, and terrifyingly untouchable.

But what they don’t see is what he’s built beneath the surface.

The IOUs. The favors. The secrets traded like currency.

The pressure he wears like armor. The heart that he pushes too hard.

He’s built an empire—silent, strategic, and impossible to trace.

But empires like his don’t go unnoticed forever.

Carter Mills is the first real threat we’ve faced. He’s polished, connected, and quietly ruthless. The kind of danger that doesn’t knock.

He smiles like a politician and circles like a predator.

He thinks I’m the weak link.

Leverage.

But I know the game too.

And Maverick?

He doesn’t lose.

Not his empire.

Not his girl.

And when someone dares to come for what’s his, he doesn’t just fight back— He plays to destroy.

You Owe Me is a steamy college romance filled with sharp banter, high-stakes secrets, and a possessive antihero who never loses—especially not the girl who’d do anything to protect him.

MY REVIEW

Maverick and Ainsley are back! They're solid now, but when a threat in the form of another student comes looking to take over Maverick's empire, Ainsley fights back. She doesn't want to involve Maverick, but she should have known that her man would never, ever let his world, or anyone, hurt her. So now they're in this together. Maverick did not amass his business of information and favors by playing within the lines, nor did he get to where he is without knowing how to play the ultimate game with ruthless control. With his girl's safety on the line, he's absolutely playing to win - this game, and Ainsley's heart, forever.

It's been awhile since I was last in Ainsley and Maverick's world, but I haven't forgotten just how much I love them. This time around, they're even more electric together, and their physical and emotional connections have only deepened. They're not only delicious together, but they're so cute with their banter and the way they tease each other, in all kinds of ways. And they're absolutely perfect together as they face down the threat together, while falling more and more in love. I'm going to miss these two, but am really excited to read the spinoff, starting with Objection Overruled.

Review: One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti

Review of One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti ONE LITTLE LIE Hollis is a good girl with a crush on a broody musician. Unfortunately, that boy, Adam, hates her. Why? Because the chip on his shoulder leaves him thinking good girl, rich girl Hollis is a lemming like everyone else in their small town. Which makes it even more unfortunate when years after their high school encounter, Hollis' best friend tries to stick up for her and ends up telling her parents that Adam is the the boyfriend Hollis doesn't actually have. Oops. How will Hollis ever convince Adam to go along with her little lie? I really liked One Little Lie. Hollis is a really naive girl, but she has such a huge heart that I couldn't help but fall in love with her spirit. She's so sweet, so compassionate, the kind of person this world needs more of. Adam, on the other hand, eh, he didn't do much for me. His chip on the shoulder, broody asshole attitude did nothing to endear me to him, but because H...

Title: The Challenge: A Single Dad Romance Author: Penelope Ward Genre: Standalone Contemporary Romance Tropes: Single Dad, Second Chance, Forced Proximity Friends to Lovers, Small Town, Found Family Release Date: August 30, 2026 BLURB From New York Times bestselling author Penelope Ward comes a new, STANDALONE contemporary romance… Nothing says welcome home like accidentally moving in with your first heartbreak…and his little girl. Coming back to my small Wyoming hometown was supposed to be temporary. I only planned to stay long enough to help my ailing mother and sort through the mess of my family’s old belongings. Instead, I somehow ended up living in Evan Ricci’s house. The single dad now owned a bunch of properties and one of them was the place I’d rented. He’d taken it off the market and moved in before I got there. I just never got the memo. Unfortunately, there was no other place in town available, so Evan let me stay. Evan—the guy my parents took in years a...
