Review Blitz: Doubt (Sinners and Saints #4) by Kathy Lockheart

Doubt by Kathy Lockheart is now live!

I killed a man.
That’s what they charged me with after finding me in the woods with a bloody knife, a dead body, and no memory of how I got there.

The case was over before it began…
until Ryker Kincaid stepped in.

Chicago’s most ruthless defense attorney.
My brother’s best friend.
The only man I ever loved.

He shouldn’t touch me.
Shouldn’t move me into his penthouse.
Shouldn’t look at me like I’m something worth saving.

But he does.

Ryker believes I’m innocent, and he’s risking everything to prove it.
His career. His reputation. His heart.

The price he demands is the truth.
Every secret. Every dark corner of my past.

But I learned a long time ago that honesty makes people leave.

I survived them all walking away.
I won’t survive losing Ryker.

So when the truth finally surfaces, there’s only one question left:

Will Ryker choose to stay…

or will I lose the only man who ever made me believe I was worth loving?

MY REVIEW

When Faith needs help, Ryker, one of her brother's best friends, comes to the rescue. They've had chemistry since they first met, but what she really needs now, is for someone to defend her in this murder case, to believe in her innocence, to trust her. Ryker does all those things, and more. She'll need to come clean with her whole past, though, if she wants to to help Ryker win this seemingly unwinnable case.

Ryker was so accurate when he started calling Faith, "Warrior," because that's what she truly is. The horrors she faced in foster home after foster home, then on the streets, only for her to come out strong, with a compassionate, but bruised heart, I don't know how she did it. She and Ryker were soulmates, and I loved that she finally had someone in her corner who saw her. Oh she had her brother, but that's not the same thing as the kind of love she and Ryker shared, the kind built on a connection that builds with each day, one based on trust and allowing themselves to be vulnerable to each other, knowing they won't be hurt while baring that vulnerability. This series just keeps getting better - Faith and Ryker are my favorite couple yet with their spicy chemistry and the kind of emotional connection that very few people are lucky to have. All of the Sinners and Saints make appearances, and we're given a peek into the upcoming final story when Knox finally gets his turn.

Review: Waiting for You by Kate McBrien

Review of Waiting for You by Kate McBrien Justin and Lucy are apart, but for how long? Lucy's staying with her parents, but knows she needs to get out and start living her life again. But when she gets a chance to go to London, it just may be her chance to reunite with the man whose soul has been entwined with hers for centuries upon centuries. But first, our two fated lovers will have to not only reunite, but stay together, beat the odds and the people and/or forces who are trying to keep them apart. Waiting for You is a great followup to Discovering You. Justin and Lucy's story is exciting and passionate, and the mystical/fantasy/paranormal aspect just adds another interesting layer to their already wonderful connection. I normally don't read a lot of paranormal/fantasy/sci-fi romance anymore, but I loved it here in Waiting for You. It's subtle, but ever present and as I said, just makes their story all the more intriguing. I can't wait for the conclusio...
