MY REVIEW
When Dani's new boss and the man who beat her out for the promotion she deserves turns up in the newsroom, and he's the ex who shattered her heart a decade ago, she's far less happy to see him than he is to see her. She thought she and Gavin were going to have that happy future they'd been planning, but instead he broke up with her after telling her he didn't feel the same way for her that she'd thought. Yeah. Now he's her boss and the last thing she wants is to work with him, or be friends with him, or God help her, give him a second chance. But maybe things weren't as they seemed. And just maybe she still loves him.
Dani is so passionate about her job, she threw herself into becoming the best after Gavin left her, and she's come so far, that it really hurt she was passed over for promotion by the man who broke her heart so badly. But, when it came out just why he did that, wow, a twist that had me hurting for both of them. This second chance is sweet, spicy and I love that Gavin had not only been pining for Dani the whole time, and that he became her biggest cheerleader once he came back into her life.

Donna fell in love with journalism at a very young age and always knew she wanted to use it to help people. She graduated with her degree in Broadcasting, but started working in newsrooms even before she graduated, learning from award winning writers and producers. She became a full-time producer, running various hours of a morning news show for nearly eight years, earning an Emmy Award in the process.
When the pandemic hit, she felt she needed to do more and went back to school to earn her Legal Studies degree. Now, Donna works as a Trust and Estate Litigation Paralegal, giving a voice to those who no longer have one. Every day feels like she’s living in a real-life soap opera.
Donna is an avid romance reader and has her nose in a book any chance she gets. She lives on the West Coast with her husband and son.
