Review: Ridge by S.L. Scott

Review of Ridge by S.L. Scott

Dave Carson (Ridge) has finally, unexpectedly, met the woman of his dreams. But, she doesn't want a thing, a relationship, whatever you want to call it. You see, she's closed herself off to the idea of love, thanks to her awful parents, who were not exactly the role models for beautiful, romantic love. So Dave gives her what she wants, and lets her go. Will she ever come back to him? Will she ever wrap her head around the notion that just because you love someone and they love you, does not mean you lose your independence, lose your self? Or will she focus herself on her dream, her independence, her career?

Agh this story got to me right in the gut! Dave may not be a Crow brother by blood, but he's one by virtue of love, and he's got those boys beat in the swoonworthy department. I didn't think it was possible, but it's a fact - Dave is the absolute sweetest, most patient, most adorable hero yet of S.L. Scott's. There were times I wanted to smack Meadow upside the head, though, because she was frustrating as hell with her stubbornness and closed off heart. And yet, I felt for her, and could certainly understand why she was the way she was. And Dave loved her, so she gets a huge pass from me. Still, had she not been paired with the amazing guy that Dave is, I probably wouldn't have given her a pass. But, I loved their story. It's emotional and beautiful and real. Sounds strange to call a rockstar romance real, but Ridge is real. Dave and Meadow are really like anyone any of us could know and love. They're that down to earth and low-key. And awesome, let's not forget awesome, cuz they are that. This whole story is, and I am just glad S.L. gave it to us, so thank you!

Review: Waiting for You by Kate McBrien

Review of Waiting for You by Kate McBrien Justin and Lucy are apart, but for how long? Lucy's staying with her parents, but knows she needs to get out and start living her life again. But when she gets a chance to go to London, it just may be her chance to reunite with the man whose soul has been entwined with hers for centuries upon centuries. But first, our two fated lovers will have to not only reunite, but stay together, beat the odds and the people and/or forces who are trying to keep them apart. Waiting for You is a great followup to Discovering You. Justin and Lucy's story is exciting and passionate, and the mystical/fantasy/paranormal aspect just adds another interesting layer to their already wonderful connection. I normally don't read a lot of paranormal/fantasy/sci-fi romance anymore, but I loved it here in Waiting for You. It's subtle, but ever present and as I said, just makes their story all the more intriguing. I can't wait for the conclusio...
