Review of A Kiss Stolen by Georgia Le Carre
Long ago, a boy stole a kiss from Liliana Eden. When she ran to her dad, Jake (of THE Eden family), Jake had that boy's dad, the gardener, fired. It set off a chain of events that had a lasting, horrific effect on the poor boy and his parents.
Brand has nursed his hate and his quest for vengeance ever since, throughout the years of abuse he's suffered, so when he finally gets his chance, he takes Liliana. Will he be able to keep her? Obtain her heart? Or will his need for vengeance against her father overwhelm the love he and Liliana share? And when Jake Eden gets his daughter back, will the all out war surely to commence, be fatal for either man? Fatal for Liliana?
I remember back when I read the Eden Trilogy, loving and kinda hating Jake at the same time. I felt the same way about Brand. Loving him because he turned out to be a pretty amazing person beneath his criminal facade, just like Jake. But hating him because he took Liliana, was cold to her, treated her pretty badly, for awhile there. Even if you haven't read the original Eden books, you can read and enjoy A Kiss Stolen and enjoy it, but I recommend you do read Jake and Lily's story anyway. Why? Because it's amazing for one. And two, because it will give you Jake's whole backstory and why the things he tells Brand toward the end have such significance.
Georgia Le Carre never fails to deliver suspense and intrigue along with alpha men and strong, loving women, but she's really gone above and beyond with Brand and Liliana's story. It's just as good as the original Eden Trilogy, if not better. Romantic suspense doesn't get much better than this!
