Review of More: Ryder Brothers by JD Hawkins
When Jonas and Hadley meet and have a hot encounter at his brother and her friend's wedding, neither expects for it to end up becoming more than just an encounter, least of all Jonas, the most commitment-phobic man alive. But I love that his commitment-phobia isn't because he's just a player or a manwhore (although he is both of those things), but because of an underlying issue that isn't what you might expect of an on hiatus musician.
Will Hadley, life coach extraordinaire, be just the person to help Jonas out of his funk, get him past not only his block, but the deeper reason for his block AND his phobia of commitment?
"You told me I needed to commit to something... but I didn't listen. Not until you showed me something worth committing to."
I absolutely LOVED More!!! JD Hawkins knocked this one out of the park. More isn't just some fluffy rockstar read that's all about sex, drugs and rock n roll. No, it's much more substantive than that. Hadley and Jonas, especially Hadley, are well-drawn, fully-realized characters who happen to be perfect for each other and who have chemistry in spades. I've loved everything of JD's that I've read, but I really think More is him at his absolute best!
