Review: Tall, Dark and Tempting: A Best Friends to Lovers Romance (Tall, Dark and Sexy Series Book 3) by Erika Wilde

Review of Tall, Dark and Tempting: A Best Friends to Lovers Romance (Tall, Dark and Sexy Series Book 3) by Erika Wilde

Serena has been in love with her best friend, Dylan, forever it seems. But she knows he's firmly friend-zoned her, so she pines in secret. Well, not so secret, as most of their friends, even Dylan himself, know how she feels, thanks to wearing her heart on her sleeve since they were teens. Dylan has been fighting his more than friendly feelings for Serena since they were teens. But, he knows he can't give her what she needs, deserves and wants - the whole fairy tale along with a forever kind of Prince Charming - so he plays the sweet, supportive best friend and hurts every time she comes over after each of her many relationships fails for one reason or another. But, after one night of passion together, she's thinking perhaps they have a future, that they can combine friendship and more successfully. Dylan, though, is not done fighting his feelings, so behaves atrociously and damages, possibly ends, their relationship. Will these two ever get on the same page or are they doomed to just be best friends, perhaps not even friends, never more?

I love me a good friends to lovers romance, and let me tell you, Tall, Dark and Tempting is more than good, it's fantastic! Dylan and Serena have so much love in their friendship that it was almost painful to see them fighting that love. Individually, they were likable and deeply interesting, but together? Whew - fire! Erika Wilde's heroes and heroines are always fabulous but I think that she's given Dylan and Serena something extra special because I fell harder for them than any of her past couples. I cannot wait for more from Erika, she's one of my absolute favorite authors!

Review: One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti

Review of One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti ONE LITTLE LIE Hollis is a good girl with a crush on a broody musician. Unfortunately, that boy, Adam, hates her. Why? Because the chip on his shoulder leaves him thinking good girl, rich girl Hollis is a lemming like everyone else in their small town. Which makes it even more unfortunate when years after their high school encounter, Hollis' best friend tries to stick up for her and ends up telling her parents that Adam is the the boyfriend Hollis doesn't actually have. Oops. How will Hollis ever convince Adam to go along with her little lie? I really liked One Little Lie. Hollis is a really naive girl, but she has such a huge heart that I couldn't help but fall in love with her spirit. She's so sweet, so compassionate, the kind of person this world needs more of. Adam, on the other hand, eh, he didn't do much for me. His chip on the shoulder, broody asshole attitude did nothing to endear me to him, but because H...
