Review of Finding Home with You (The Rockport Beach Series Book 2) by Claire Raye
Erin and Ryan have a thing going on. Neither wants to admit it to their mutual friends, let alone to themselves and each other, but it's a fact. Now if only they could get on the same page and either admit their feelings and let it all out, or go their separate ways.
And then one night while Ryan's on a case, he finds something out about Erin that blows his mind. So when he confronts her, it doesn't exactly go that well, considering that he's once again yelling, and she's once again on the defensive. Yep. Same old with these two. But that something that Ryan found out about Erin has the potential to take Erin and everyone around her down. Will they get through it intact? Will Erin ever learn to open up to Ryan?
Erin and Ryan are a combustible ball of fire just waiting to be detonated. Their relationship consists of fighting, yelling, and fucking. Then one or the other of them walking (running) away from the other. Then rinse. Repeat. And it got really, really old. Talk about a toxic, angsty, ANNOYING relationship to have to read! Gah I don't like even writing this review because Finding Home With You annoyed me so much! So why 3 stars and not the 2 I was tempted to give it? Well, the writing itself is good. It's just the characters and their ridiculous behavior that I hated. And Finn. Finn is the main reason for 3 and not 2 stars. Because he's intriguing and the snippet of his story intrigued me so much that I could almost forgive Erin and Ryan for annoying the fuck out of me. Almost, but not quite. So I have to give it 3 stars because I can see potential in the writing and because now I can look forward to Finn's story. But Ryan and Erin? Most annoying, obnoxious, wishy washy couple that's graced (not) my Kindle in a long, long time.
