Review of About Last Night (Kentucky Cowboys Trilogy Book 1) by Carter Ashby
When Tessa spends a night with her neighbor, Cooper, she immediately feels ashamed of herself when she wakes up the next morning. Sure, the sex was hot, and he made her feel beautiful, but looking back on it has her realizing it was a serious mistake to hook up with her manwhore neighbor, a man who's still grieving his deceased wife, and learning how to be a single father. Can Tessa and Cooper make something beautiful out of a mistake?
About Last Night is a heartbreaking tale. Cooper is in so much pain, still grieving so much, that it was painful for me to read. And poor Tessa, she suffered so much along with him every time he shut down on her when she started to get too close to his still grieving heart. I like that the story was realistic, and how they worked out their big problem. It's true that losing a spouse to death is much different than losing one to divorce, so Cooper and Tessa were coming at their losses from a completely different standpoint. Thank God they worked things out!
