Review of The One Real Regret (Bachelor Book 3) by Janet Nissenson
Seeing Max again years after he broke her heart is not what Jill was expecting for her work day. And it's definitely not something she wants, not something she ever wanted. But, at least she's over him, right?
Max had good (he thinks) reasons for so coldly walking away from Jill all those years ago, though. Reasons he's never told a living soul about. But perhaps, if he can open up his heart and bare his soul, Jill would give him the second chance he now realizes he wants. The question is, is he capable of doing that? Not only that, but does he deserve a second chance?
I'm of two minds about The One Real Regret. On one hand, I liked Jill and Max and and their close friendships with their respective friends. I felt there was a decent amount of character growth, which is always appreciated. On the other hand, there was A FREAKIN LOT of in their own heads dialogue, too much for my tastes. It made the pace drag and I started skimming to be honest, which is never a good sign. But, the fact that Max and Jill are great characters, genuinely likable with lots of depth, made up for the too much inner dialogue and draggy pace, so 4 stars seems fair.
