Review of Until December (Until Her Book 5) by Aurora Rose Reynolds

UNTIL DECEMBER

December and her sisters have a rule that if one of them is interested in a guy, none of the other sisters can even think of being with him, even if said man isn't interested in that sister. So when Gareth appears interested, she knows she can't start anything with him, because April called dibs on him. Except, for once, December wants to say screw the rules and not be the good girl. So she goes home with him, then sneaks out the next morning while he's sleeping. She feels completely stupid when April later tells her to go for Gareth, that she had no real interest in Gareth except for thinking he was hot. Sheesh, poor December! But when Gareth accuses her of playing games with him after her very sincere apology, she knows she's completely blown her chance with him, and she has to live with it. Except maybe not. Maybe Gareth has had a change of heart after someone has a very come to Jesus little talk with him.

I haven't read many of the Until series, but I have read enough to know they follow a specific formula, one that works very well, and works well here, too. I love how sweet Gareth and December are together, and how easily she blends into his life. Gareth is a great guy - a hardworking single dad who works two jobs to provide for his (absolutely adorable) boys, but he's got a few insecurities, and those allowed him to blow up at poor December. Luckily for him, she easily forgave him once he showed he wasn't letting her go, once he explained why he had been such a dick. To me, that's the ultimate sign of a real man - when he can acknowledge his asshole behavior, not only that, but then to turn around and apologize. So swoony! And December, that woman is the perfect fit for Gareth. She's sweet, a little dorky, and has a huge, loving heart. Perfect for a man with two boys that need a sweet female in their lives.

I'm not sure which story is next in the Until Her/Until Him series, but I cannot wait! I hope it's as sweet and sexy as Until December is.

Review: One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti

Review of One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti ONE LITTLE LIE Hollis is a good girl with a crush on a broody musician. Unfortunately, that boy, Adam, hates her. Why? Because the chip on his shoulder leaves him thinking good girl, rich girl Hollis is a lemming like everyone else in their small town. Which makes it even more unfortunate when years after their high school encounter, Hollis' best friend tries to stick up for her and ends up telling her parents that Adam is the the boyfriend Hollis doesn't actually have. Oops. How will Hollis ever convince Adam to go along with her little lie? I really liked One Little Lie. Hollis is a really naive girl, but she has such a huge heart that I couldn't help but fall in love with her spirit. She's so sweet, so compassionate, the kind of person this world needs more of. Adam, on the other hand, eh, he didn't do much for me. His chip on the shoulder, broody asshole attitude did nothing to endear me to him, but because H...

Coming back to my small Wyoming hometown was supposed to be temporary. I only planned to stay long enough to help my ailing mother and sort through the mess of my family’s old belongings. Instead, I somehow ended up living in Evan Ricci’s house. The single dad now owned a bunch of properties and one of them was the place I’d rented. He’d taken it off the market and moved in before I got there. I just never got the memo. Unfortunately, there was no other place in town available, so Evan let me stay. Evan—the guy my parents took in years a...
