JORDYN'S ARMY ANTHOLOGY

Fighting For Our Forever… Baby Style by Heidi McLaughlin

A sweet way to cap off Ajay & Whiskey's story - 4 stars

Whiskey is about ready to pop even though she's quite a few weeks from her due date. But their son is ready...NOW! What will they name him? Will Evelyn take to being a big sister? Also, what is going on with Dana & Hendrix? Inquiring minds want to know!

Pure Rose by Kathy Cooopmans

An equally sweet, and definitely sexy, story of a second chance on finding love for a not 20 something single mom & dad - 4 sexy stars!

Rose is a hard-working mom of 40 who has sacrificed her whole life for her now 20 something daughter. So it's time for her to finally have something of her own. That something happens to be 46-year-old Owen, a hot alpha of a man who happens to be Kennedy's ex's father. Will Rose allow her justifiable insecurities get in the way of what could be the love of both their lives? Not if Owen has anything to say about it!

I loved this short, hot story and wish it were expanded into a full-length novel because it's that good. Owen and Rose remind us all that love isn't just for 20 somethings!

Waking Up to Forever by Amy Briggs

Another sweet story of a couple about to be married but who are experiencing some serious setbacks - 4 stars.

Jackie and Jacob are to be married in a few days and Jackie in particular is working overtime getting ready for the wedding. But mysterious, malicious things keep happening and she's starting to wonder if they're cursed, doomed to not marry. Can the cops find out who has targeted them before the wedding?

This is a sweet story that feels fairly complete considering its very short length.

Crush by Adriana Locke

Short and hot with small town charm - 4 stars!

When Delaney meets a hottie at the local laundromat, she just knows something good is going to come of it. And something verrry good does come out of it - the best night of her life!!

I wish this one were expanded into a full length novel, too, because I love this small town world that Adriana Locke has created.

Love, Rose by Shari J. Ryan

A serendipitous starting over little love story - 4 stars!

When Rose walks into her home to find her husband of 8 years cheating on her, it knocks her for a loop. So she walks out and moves across the pond to start over. But, pain like that doesn't just go away, and she soon finds that writing letters, even ones she doesn't really intend on mailing, give her a form of therapy, a way to vent her pain and anger. She just didn't realize that when she did start mailing those letters to her ex, that they'd end up in the hands of someone very special, someone who'd hop the pond himself to come find her and let her know how much her words inspired him.

I loved Colton and Rose's sweet love story and wish it too were expanded into a full length novel.

Reunion by Julie A. Richman

5 absolutely amazing stars for Rosie Cheeks and her Derelict!!

When Rose's best friend Des convinces her to attend their high school reunion, she has no idea Des has an agenda, an agenda that will change her life. Rose thinks she's going to the reunion to be Des' wing woman for when Des has to see her ex when she's pregnant and he has his new bimbo with the fake boobs. What she doesn't know is someone very special has his own plans for his Rosie Blowsy.

Swoon...swoon I tell you! That's what I did at the end of this freaking' adorable and sweet af short story. I am hoping beyond hope that Julie A. Richman either plans on expanding this to a full length novel or that she's going to give us more stories that involve Rose and Danny because they are just everything. Gah, I am so in love with these two very Breakfast Clubbish people who find each other again.

Coming Home by HJ Bellus

A sweet but melancholy 4 stars.

When Annie comes home from college, it's not glowing with success, because she's injured herself and gotten herself taken off her softball team, AND she's knocked up by a guy who's gone radio silent on her. Sigh...

But there's hope. Hope she finds in her small country town where her family lives and loves. Her family that loves her and isn't disappointed. AND where Wes, the boy she left behind, still is. The boy who still loves her.

I CANNOT wait for more Wes and Annie. Thank God HJ Bellus says in a note at the end that the end is only for now. I hope it means more to come. When more does come, I'll be 1-clicking so fast!

Roses for Rachel by Sam JD Hunt

A sweet 3.5 stars for this couple who are starting over after losing their first loves.

Jonah lost his wife, Rachel, a year and 5 days previous when her voice wakes him and tells him to go get her roses. Luckily (fatefully) he finds Hannah when he finds her "Roses for Rachel" sign, and it's as if a light went on in his foggy mind. A light of love that his wife lead him to.

This is a very sweet insta-love story with a touch of the mystical what with both Jonah and Hannah's dead spouses speaking to them, literally, and leading them to each other.

Finley and Sebastian, Wages of Sin Series by Tara Leigh

5 super sexy stars for this peek into the Wages of Sin world!

Finley Rose Byrne works for, and is undoubtedly loyal to, her brother-in-law, Damon King, monarch of Wall Street's organized crime empire. She doesn't like or trust, Damon's new business associate, Sebastian, the prince of the Los Muertos cartel. But she's damn well attracted to the obnoxious man. So when he informs her she's going up to his hotel room with him, she should turn him down. Except, her body doesn't want her to turn him down. She wants him to take control of her in a way few men ever have. And once Sebastian has a taste of the ice princess, he aims to keep her, even if it means his break from Damon King isn't going to be as pretty as he had been expecting.

I loved Finley and Sebastian's hot little story. I have no idea if Tara Leigh plans on extending them into a full story, but if she does, I will be the first one to 1-click!

Whiskey & Roses by Kaylee Ryan

4 anniversary stars for Whiskey & Saylor's 16 years together!

Rhett has a special surprise planned for his wife of 16 years. He had to let their youngest daughter in on the the secret, but that's OK because it meant she would feel included, and he didn't tell her EVERYTHING, of course. His little girl isn't much of a secret keeper so he couldn't tell her everything could he?

Saylor gives thanks every day that her Whiskey has given her infinite love and a 4 children. She doesn't know her hubs is about to gift her the sweetest surprise for their anniversary, but when she finds out, it will only make her even more grateful for the love they have.

Where I Escape by Michelle Dare

A sweet, longtime friends to lovers story - 4 stars.

Blair (from Where I Am), has long crushed on her friend, Finn. She has no idea that Finn feels the same way about her. He has good reason, though, for not making a move. Blair went through something extremely traumatic years earlier, and though she's much physically, emotionally and mentally better now, Finn has no desire to hurt her or upset the balance of their friendship. But things are coming to a head and neither of them can restrain themselves from admitting their feelings for each other. And when they come together? Whew!

This is a very sweet, sexy friends to lovers short story. I remember years ago reading the first Arrow Falls story and not liking the hero (Cy) in it, but I loved Finn. Blair is perfect for him and I love that though it seems like insta-love, it's not, as they've been friends for years.

Capturing Tomorrow, Kinglsey series book 5.5, by Hayley Thorne

4 stars for artist Phoenix and her man River!

When Phoenix, her sisters and friends take off to Nashville for her sister's bachelorette party, she really doesn't stop to think that all their men are not about to allow them to go somewhere without them there to watch over them. Luckily for their men, the women were missing them and don't mind that their party gets crashed. And luckily for Phoenix, River has a very hot surprise in store for her!

This is a really sexy peek into the Kingsley world. I haven't read any of the previous books yet, but after reading this one, you can bet I'm going to be doing some downloading tonight!

LINE 39 by Verlene Landon

4 wagging tail and wet nose stars for Rue, Lena & Rose's beginning!

Lena would do anything to ensure her father's happiness, even if it means buying roses and inventing a fake live-in boyfriend to make him think that she's happy and in love, so his undeserved guilt will stop eating at him. But when an overzealous puppy runs into Lena and knocks the roses out of her hands, she feels her ruse going down the drain. Until the puppy's owner speaks up and changes her life.

I'm so glad Verlene Landon said in a note at the end of LINE 39 that this is only the very beginning of their story, because I am dying to know what happens with these three!

Coming Up Roses by Michelle Windsor

5 1st class stars for Chloe & Fin!

Chloe's about to embark on a flight to New York for the job interview of her life when a demi-god helps her put her carry on into the cupboard above her. When Fin turns out to be sitting in the seat next to her, she's thinking this flight will be even better than she had thought. But he's carrying a secret that may derail anything that could possibly happen between them. Will she allow it to come between them or give into the electricity they're both feeling?

Whew, this is one hot short story! I would so love it if it were expanded upon or if another story were written about Chloe and Fin because they are fire together!

Mine to Protect by Kristin Mayer

3.5 stars for Scarlette and Austin's suspenseful story.

When the widow Austin's been trying to help over the grief of losing her husband and his friend, goes nuts on them, Austin vows to protect his girlfriend Scarlette to the end. Will Austin's special forces training help him talk her down or will Scarlette lose him just as they found each other again?

This one left me with questions. It definitely felt as if I was starting somewhere in the middle of their story, so I thought perhaps this is an add on story of an existing series or something, but I didn't see anything to indicate this, so I'm a bit bummed. I'd love to get more details about Austin and Scarlette.

The Way We Fell, A Legacy series novella, by MJ Fields

3.5 Irish stars for Ben and Kendall's long journey crammed into a very short story.

Kendall's long had a crush on Ben, her sister's ex, the boy who removed a thorn from her finger, and took a piece of her heart while doing it. So when she sees him while she's touring Ireland, it's like fate is having its way with them. But Ben's a budding rockstar, and Kendall's holding onto something very special. Can the two manage a global relationship?

This is a sweet story, but I felt like it needed a bit more. Some more details would have gone a long way here.

Ring Me by Rebecca Brooke

4 stars for Cole & Mari.

Cole wants to ask Mari the most important question of his life. But how to do it? He knows he needs it to be big and memorable. Will Mari say yes?

A sweet ending of sorts to Cole & Mari's story, Rock Me.

Jordyn's Army is a wonderful anthology with sweet, sexy, emotional and everything in between. Something for everyone. I hope it does well because Jordyn and her family deserve something wonderful!

Review: Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette (American Revolutionary Tales 2) by Regina Kammer

Review of Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette by Regina Kammer Captain Samuel Taylor and Lieutenant Patrick Hamilton recall their first steamy encounter, which was a MFM threesome in a brothel. It morphed into more and now the two are contemplating their futures with the women they love, and their futures with each other. If you think times are hard for the LGBT community now, think of how hard they were during the American Revolution. Winter Interlude is well developed, which is surprising given its short length. I am so interested in knowing what is to become of Samuel and Patrick's forbidden relationship. Do they stay together? Or do they go their separate ways, and live out their lives with their women? Now that they've admitted their love for each other, how impossible would it be for them to be without each other? I have to know, now! If you like MM fiction and/or historical fiction, I highly recommend you give Winter Interlude a read. It...
