Review: Just a Taste by Crystal Kaswell
Good girl Meg (Megara) doesn't seem like the type to make a good fit for bad boy rockstar Miles. But when she tells him off and doesn't fall for his bs, he's hooked. Can he convince her a friends with benefits arrangement is something she should indulge in with him? Or will his lifestyle be a little much for the pre-med student?
I loved this story when I first read it from Meg's POV in Sing Your Heart Out, and reading it here from Miles' POV is even better. As far as rockstars go, Miles is really the perfect archetype - he's cocky, he's a manwhore, he's damaged, and he's battling an addiction. Could he be more cliché? Except he's not. He's actually quite interesting and substantial once Meg is able to scale past his outer douche layer. That's one of the things I love most about this story - that on the surface it is seemingly all very shallow and unoriginal. But Miles is much deeper than the average tortured rockstar, and Meg is the woman who sees beneath that flash and into the heart he tries to protect. I'm so glad that after all these years, Crystal finally decided to give us Miles' side of the story. It's just as sexy and emotional as Meg's POV, and the story hasn't lost any of its awesomeness this time around.
