One call. One word. And the future Bren envisioned crumbles to dust. There’s a sickness in her, a malignant force threatening her happy life. While she longs to feel Max’s arms around her—holding her tight in assurance everything will be okay—she can’t bring herself to reveal her crushing truth. To save him from the sadness to come, Bren feels she has no choice but to push him away.

After running from his past for so long, Max got his first taste of a blissful life with Bren. Behind him are the days of mafia brutality and rival families... or so he hopes. But things take a dark and inexplicable turn when Bren begins pushing him away. After all he’s lost, he refuses to let her destroy what they have by hiding behind secrets. Hell bent on saving her from herself, Max is prepared to fight his way back to her side... no matter what it takes.

During life’s darkest trials, battered hearts can only be saved... by love.

MY REVIEW
When Bren starts pulling away from him, Max has no idea what's wrong or how to reach her. And then she finally breaks down and drops her bombshell. Will Max be able to support her and stick by her side as she goes through her horrible ideal? Will the two of them make it to the other side, the happiness they had within their grasp?

Dang, this was a bit of a punch in the gut. Emotional, heart-tugging, and thoroughly engaging reading. I loved Max and Bren together, how their relationship strengthened as they struggled to make it through, and then onto the sweet epilogue. I will definitely be on the lookout for more from this author after having read and loved this story.
Sarah Stevens is a New Adult Romance author.

Sarah started writing her first novel The Night He Saved Me in her free time while being a stay-at-home mom. Then one day, it started to flow, and she was writing "The End" in a matter of two months.

When she isn't writing, she is enjoying the southern life with her husband, three kids, a Saint Bernard—who is still adjusting to the southern summers and Bruno a rescue dog. She can't go a day without her coffee in the morning—and a few more cups during the day and her late nights writing.

She enjoys reading Contemporary or New Adult Romance and going to the pool or beach as much as she can. She loves all things Disney and collects Disney mugs to drink her beloved coffee in.

Review: One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti

Review of One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti ONE LITTLE LIE Hollis is a good girl with a crush on a broody musician. Unfortunately, that boy, Adam, hates her. Why? Because the chip on his shoulder leaves him thinking good girl, rich girl Hollis is a lemming like everyone else in their small town. Which makes it even more unfortunate when years after their high school encounter, Hollis' best friend tries to stick up for her and ends up telling her parents that Adam is the the boyfriend Hollis doesn't actually have. Oops. How will Hollis ever convince Adam to go along with her little lie? I really liked One Little Lie. Hollis is a really naive girl, but she has such a huge heart that I couldn't help but fall in love with her spirit. She's so sweet, so compassionate, the kind of person this world needs more of. Adam, on the other hand, eh, he didn't do much for me. His chip on the shoulder, broody asshole attitude did nothing to endear me to him, but because H...

Coming back to my small Wyoming hometown was supposed to be temporary. I only planned to stay long enough to help my ailing mother and sort through the mess of my family’s old belongings. Instead, I somehow ended up living in Evan Ricci’s house. The single dad now owned a bunch of properties and one of them was the place I’d rented. He’d taken it off the market and moved in before I got there. I just never got the memo. Unfortunately, there was no other place in town available, so Evan let me stay. Evan—the guy my parents took in years a...
