Review: Control Us (Next Generation #1) by J.M. Walker
Zach and Luna have been friends for years now and have long held decidedly more than friendly feelings for each other. Neither made a move until one day it just happened. Now Zach will have to step up, decide if he can overcome the demons of his torturous past and be the man Luna deserves. Yes, he has obstacles in Luna's father, Vincent (from Rust), but his biggest obstacle are his own mind, his own soul, which are damaged almost beyond belief. If he can overcome his past, though, he and Luna could have something truly beautiful like both their parents and all their aunts and uncles do.
My God...J.M. always brings pain and the emotion in her writing, and that's not more apparent than here in Control Us. Zach and Luna belong with each other, truly, but the pain they had to go through to stay together? Almost too much to bear. Thank God for the strength of character each displayed, and the strength of their love and their families' love. I loved the mentions of the King's Harlots and Vice One crews - it is good to know they're still around and happily together. Now I'm waiting very impatiently for With Us, Sunny, Meadow, and Roy's story!
