Review: Unforgotten Passion (Dirty Sexy Fairy Tales #4) by Erika Wilde
Raevynn and Collin were young high school sweethearts, he 18 and she 17. They were in love and had only just consummated their love once, when they were ripped apart. Collin broke her heart (and his own) when he told her they were nothing, then he walked away. Now years later, she's a bona fide superstar singer, with money and fame and the glamorous life. Collin's never forgotten or gotten over her, and he's watching her perform, so close to her he can practically reach out and touch her. But he doubts she'd ever want to be near him considering he broke her heart. But perhaps she's never gotten over him, too, and just might need him to take her away from her suffocating life. Will her prince rescue her?
Rae wants nothing but to live a normal life. But how can she when she's surrounded by paparazzi, bodyguards, and most significantly, her controlling, suffocating mother/manager. When Collin appears like a lifeline, she grabs a hold of him, knowing she can probably only be with him for a few days at most before her life comes calling. Might a second chance be on their horizon, or is this Rapunzel doomed to stay locked in her isolated tower?
Erika Wilde's writing is always sexy and effortlessly entertaining, but I think this one in particular is one of my favorites even though it's fairly short, because Rae & Collin struck a chord with me. Their second chance felt so organic, and it was clear these two had never gotten over each other, that their love had only grown in the years since they had last seen each other. I'm not sure which fairy tale is getting a modern makeover next in the Dirty Sexy Fairy Tales world, but I know it will be as sexy and emotionally layered as Unforgotten Passion.
