Review: Loved You Once (The Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers #1) by Claudia Burgoa

Hayes' empty but successful life as a renown orthopedic surgeon in the Bay is about to change thanks to a phone call informing him his father is on his death bed. This is the seriously wealthy, but completely unbearable father that none of his many children has fond feelings for. But when Hayes heads back to Baker's Creek, it's not really his estranged father on his mind, no, it's the girl who got away, his sister-in-law. But Blaire was his first. Before she married Carter, his brother. The brother he loved and lost when Carter passed all those years ago. Damn!
What can I say about this one? First thing that comes to mind is that I adore Blaire. She's got a huge heart, a huge capacity for forgiveness, and she gives all of herself to people who need her, even to the extent of putting herself dead last. Hayes on the other hand, I did not like. Yes, he was in a bad position when he lost his brother, but what he did to Blaire after is pretty unforgivable and he's lucky she's far more forgiving than he deserved. If it had been me in her place, he'd still be my former brother-in-law and the ex whom I would speak to only when absolutely necessary.
Still, I liked this story and the rest of the Aldridge brothers and the women who will bring them to their knees. I can already tell they are gonna be verrrry interesting!
