MY REVIEW

Elena is a bit disturbed to find her blind date is not responding to her texts. Is he even at the restaurant. So she looks around and finds the lone guy sitting down - it must be him, right? So she sits down and proceeds to bemuse, confound, and ultimately, charm and attract him. Unfortunately (fortunately) Jack is not really her blind date, nor does he want to tell her who he really is, for obvious (to him) reasons. When his real identity is revealed, will it scare Elena off? He certainly hopes not!

Oh God I absolutely adored this story! Elena is positively the star of the show with her quirky but sweet, smart personality, qualities that attract Jack from the second she plops herself down in front of him. And Jack? Wow. That guy is just so different from the usual athletes in romance novels, even the heroes Ilsa usually writes. He's shy and oddly vulnerable and insecure, strange for a world-famous, attractive athlete. But I really appreciated those things about him because it made him more relatable and easier for me to connect with, and made him perfect for my girl Elena. I cannot remember the last time I loved a couple more than these two, along with her family and all the other quirky characters in her small town that she loves so much.
