Review / Release Blitz: My Darling Arrow (St. Mary’s Rebels #1) by Saffron A. Kent

Title: My Darling Arrow
Author: Saffron A. Kent
Genre: New Adult Romance
Release Date: September 17, 2020
Blurb
Darling Arrow,
I shouldn’t be writing this.
It’s not as if I’m ever going to send you this letter, and there are a million reasons why.
First of all, I was sent to this reform school as a punishment for a petty, totally inconsequential crime. Not to ogle the principal’s hot son around the campus.
Second of all, you’re a giant jerk. You’re arrogant and moody and so cold. Sometimes I think I shouldn’t even like you.
But strangely your coldness sets me on fire.
The way your athletic body moves on the soccer field, and the way your powerful thighs sprawl across that motorcycle of yours, make me go inappropriately breathless.
But that’s not the worst part.
The worst part is that you, Arrow Carlisle, are not only the principal’s hot son.
You also happen to be the love of my sister’s life.
And I really shouldn’t be thinking about my sister’s boyfriend, or rather fiancé (I overheard a conversation about the ring that I shouldn’t have).
Now if I can only stop writing you these meaningless letters that I’ll never send and you’ll never read…
Never yours,
Salem

MY REVIEW
Salem has been in love with Arrow since she was 10. But she's never done anything about it because he's off-limits, being her sister's boyfriend. So why is he acting as if he is single? And why is he acting like such an ass to her when in the past he's always been nothing but polite, if dismissive, to her?

Arrow (yes, that's his real name) has been raised to be perfect, to strive for perfection in all that he does. So much so that he's a soccer god, he's got (had) the perfect girlfriend, the perfect life. Except suddenly everything's falling apart around him and he's been told to go somewhere to get his act together. And that's where Salem comes into his life and shakes it up. But the man who doesn't believe in love now that it's been shown it doesn't exist, that man wants only one thing from the girl with the witchy eyes, and that one thing sure as hell isn't her heart.

OK, I have to admit that this story confused me a bit. Not in understanding it, but confused me in what I think of it. I liked parts of it, certain characters, but disliked other parts and other characters. I'm not completely sold on the story itself or the relationship between Salem and Arrow. For one, the relationship felt very unbalanced, meaning, it was all about Salem being in love with Arrow, but with him only using her for her body. They weren't even a proper couple until about the last chapter maybe. But, I did like Salem's heart, anyone who can throw herself into feelings for that long can't be all bad. I didn't like Arrow, at least not until the very end, and even then I didn't love him or anything. There are some characters I loved, though, and that's Salem's group of friends. Now those girls are awesome and I'm so glad to find out that they will be getting their own stories. I have a feeling the next one with Callie and Reed is going to be a doozy! So I'll just leave my rating at 3 stars because I loved the circle of friends, I liked that Salem so wholeheartedly put her heart into her feelings, but I disliked Arrow, and didn't feel their relationship to be particularly strong or true, didn't feel their connection to be much at all until the very last part.

Review: Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette (American Revolutionary Tales 2) by Regina Kammer

Review of Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette by Regina Kammer Captain Samuel Taylor and Lieutenant Patrick Hamilton recall their first steamy encounter, which was a MFM threesome in a brothel. It morphed into more and now the two are contemplating their futures with the women they love, and their futures with each other. If you think times are hard for the LGBT community now, think of how hard they were during the American Revolution. Winter Interlude is well developed, which is surprising given its short length. I am so interested in knowing what is to become of Samuel and Patrick's forbidden relationship. Do they stay together? Or do they go their separate ways, and live out their lives with their women? Now that they've admitted their love for each other, how impossible would it be for them to be without each other? I have to know, now! If you like MM fiction and/or historical fiction, I highly recommend you give Winter Interlude a read. It...
