Review / Release Blitz: Burlesque on Bourbon by Kitty Bardot

Burlesque on Bourbon by Kitty Bardot is now live!
A chance encounter in a voodoo shop in New Orleans has Bridgette breathless when she meets a mystery man who charms her like no other.

DANCING WITH DESIRE
Brigette O'Hare - photographer and graphic designer by day, burlesque performer by night - is in New Orleans to dance with a local burlesque troupe. Touring the city, she has an incredibly sensual encounter in a voodoo shop with the mysterious Henri Dauphine.

Henri defines everything Bridgette doesn't trust she deserves: wildly sexy, old money, his own man, and crazy about her.

She can't wrap her mind around why he wants more than a weekend fling while he's trying to figure out how to get to her to stay in New Orleans with him - forever.

Henri won't give up on the only woman he's ever loved and Bridgette finally realizes he's the man who colors her life with everlasting happiness.

MY REVIEW
Brigette has been invited to NOLA with her burlesque group. While there, she meets a gorgeous man named Henri. He's immediately taken with her, but she holds part of herself back. Why? Will she ever give herself fully to Henri? Or will she allow her fears and insecurities to keep her from experiencing true love with Henri?

The setting is gorgeous, Henri is beautiful, and the burlesque is entertaining. The story itself is fun. Unfortunately, I could not connect with Brigette, she was too fearful, and allowed it to overwhelm her personality. And, and this is my biggest gripe, I hated the third person POV. Sometimes I can read in this POV and not let it bother me. Here, though, it reinforced my disconnect with Brigette and hampered me enjoying what I can tell could have been a great story, could I have connected more with it.
Meet Kitty
Kitty Bardot juggles a life full of excitement and love. By day, she's a chef with her own catering company, by night she puts ten years of burlesque experience to use in various venues in the Quad Cities. She writes from her country home not far from the Mississippi River, enjoying every moment with her husband and their three children. Currently, she is working on her next Burlesque River story.

Review: Waiting for You by Kate McBrien

Review of Waiting for You by Kate McBrien Justin and Lucy are apart, but for how long? Lucy's staying with her parents, but knows she needs to get out and start living her life again. But when she gets a chance to go to London, it just may be her chance to reunite with the man whose soul has been entwined with hers for centuries upon centuries. But first, our two fated lovers will have to not only reunite, but stay together, beat the odds and the people and/or forces who are trying to keep them apart. Waiting for You is a great followup to Discovering You. Justin and Lucy's story is exciting and passionate, and the mystical/fantasy/paranormal aspect just adds another interesting layer to their already wonderful connection. I normally don't read a lot of paranormal/fantasy/sci-fi romance anymore, but I loved it here in Waiting for You. It's subtle, but ever present and as I said, just makes their story all the more intriguing. I can't wait for the conclusio...
