When Harrison let her go, Laney was devastated and hasn't come home for long periods. But now she's back to be with her mom and she knows she'll have to see Harrison. She hopes he's not expecting anything from her, certainly not a second chance, because her heart is closed for business. She's got scars he knows nothing about, and his treatment of her years before is only one of the causes of that damage. She underestimates the chemistry that's still there, and the love. Will she give into it? To the feelings that have never disappeared, only grown stronger?
This one tugged on the heartstrings a bit. Laney was a survivor, though, strong, loving, and so deserving of love and happiness. And Harrison, wow, he was just about perfect, I felt for him as much as I felt for Lacey. He only did what he did because he loved her. How's that for book boyfriend material?
