Once upon a time she’d been an intern.
Once upon a time he’d been a rookie.

Then he’d broken her heart. Well, not just broken it. He’d torn it to shreds. Shattered it. Freaking nuked it.

But now Charlotte was older. Leaner. Meaner. Okay, so the last wasn’t really true, but she’d certainly spent the eight years since her fling with one Logan Walker—star defenseman and that former rookie—building fortified walls around her heart at the same rate she built her career.

She was great at building. Great at winning. So much so that she’d become the new GM for the Gold—a GM who was quite possibly going insane because she’d decided to bring Logan to the team. Her heart aside, the team needed his skills to win, needed him to plug a hole in the roster.

What she didn’t need?

Logan deciding that the hole he wanted to plug was the one he’d created in her heart all those years before.
MY REVIEW
Long ago when she was young, Charlotte was an intern and met the love of her life, Logan. But he broke her heart when he broke up with her then took up with woman after woman and she had to watch it all play out in the tabloids. She persevered though, and made a success of her life. Now she's the GM of the Gold Hockey team. The GM who had to trade for the love of her life because the team needs him. But she's got walls around heart, the heart Logan so painfully broke.
Logan made the choice back then to protect Char from ruining her life by leaving her internship to follow him and allow him his dreams. Instead of asking her and them making the decision together, he made it unilaterally, and lost her, or more accurately, pushed her away. Now years later, he's back in her world and he's determined to get the second chance he's never stopped wanting since the minute he pushed her away. Will Char allow him back into her heart, or has he hurt her too badly for her to give him that second chance at love?
The push and pull, the will she let him back in was sometimes painful, but I loved Charlotte and Logan's second chance story. It's emotional and gave me all the feels, it's seriously sexy, and I can't think of anyone who deserved a second chance at love more than these two lovable characters.

Review: Waiting for You by Kate McBrien

Review of Waiting for You by Kate McBrien Justin and Lucy are apart, but for how long? Lucy's staying with her parents, but knows she needs to get out and start living her life again. But when she gets a chance to go to London, it just may be her chance to reunite with the man whose soul has been entwined with hers for centuries upon centuries. But first, our two fated lovers will have to not only reunite, but stay together, beat the odds and the people and/or forces who are trying to keep them apart. Waiting for You is a great followup to Discovering You. Justin and Lucy's story is exciting and passionate, and the mystical/fantasy/paranormal aspect just adds another interesting layer to their already wonderful connection. I normally don't read a lot of paranormal/fantasy/sci-fi romance anymore, but I loved it here in Waiting for You. It's subtle, but ever present and as I said, just makes their story all the more intriguing. I can't wait for the conclusio...
