MY REVIEW
The last person Puck expected to see while locked up in jail was his first love, Ava. He made a unilateral decision back then to leave her, and it devastated Ava. So to say she's not thrilled to see Puck as one of the men she's working with is a severe understatement. Though she's gotten sober since they broke up, and she's made something of herself, she never forgot the pain Puck put her through when he left her. And now the man wants a second chance?!
But the heart (and body) wants what the heart wants, and soon Ava and Puck are crusing toward a second chance. If, and that's a big if, Puck doesn't make the same unilateral decision without thinking of how it will affect Ava that he made the first time around, and end up breaking her heart all over again. Will Ava ever give him a second third chance after he realizes how badly he f'ed up?
Like one of the other stories in this series, I had a serious problem with the hero in this story. He's beyond alpha to the point of being a jerk, and I didn't like him at all. However, I really liked Ava, and the story itself is great - fast-paced, entertaining and steamy with the right amount of club action that doesn't overwhelm the relationship, so 4 stars seems fair.

Perhaps that is why I am drawn to writing stories of men and women who live through heart-rending pain, desperate yearnings and, ultimately, reach a place of redemption.
For a long time, I fought the urge to veer off the expected, safe path until I couldn’t go on unless I took a chance and made a change. I began to write, stopped, and began again. Finally, I gave in and here I am.
