Review / Release Blitz: Whatever You Need by S. Jones

Whatever You Need by S. Jones is now live!
Sometimes rules are destined to be broken

A one-night stand wouldn't hurt, right? That's what I told myself while I was stranded at the hotel bar in the middle of a snow storm. I thought indulging in a night of passion with the good-looking detective would be a great idea. I couldn't have been more wrong.

Apparently, seeing him again was inevitable, especially when fate kept putting him in my path.

I didn't have time for a relationship. I had a business to run and obligations to honor. But as it turned out, resisting him required more restraint than the set of handcuffs that brought us together in the first place.

I convinced myself that it was the perfect arrangement. He wasn't looking for a commitment and I wasn't in a position to give him one. That was already promised to someone else.

We might have agreed to keep things simple, but sometimes rules are destined to be broken.

MY REVIEW
One of Amelia's rescuers on the most embarrassing night of her life is a cop who happens to be the hottest guy she's ever seen. She's so embarrassed, and has familial obligations, though, so she turns him down for a date. But then she's stranded one night with him at her family's hotel and that attraction can no longer be ignored. But it can't be a thing, a thing with strings because of said obligations, and Marco's still reeling from his ex's betrayal, so anything that happens after will have to remain casual. Right...as if that ever works.

When feelings do inevitably develop, though, do the two of them stand a chance? Or did she leave it too long without telling him of her obligations, and will Marco's reactionary tendencies make sure their feelings have no future?
I liked this story even though I wanted to yell at Amelia for not telling Marco the truth earlier, and at Marco for being so freaking stubborn. Their chemistry was intense, and I really liked both their relationships with various family members - hers with her grandfather, and his with his mom and brother and grandma. Altogether a 4 star read.

You TV series

Wow, hubby and I watched You on Lifetime last night. It was creepy and suspenseful. Hubby likened it to Dexter , and I have to agree. Penn Badgley was on point - creepy, stalkery, but fascinating. I didn't think too much of Elizabeth Lail's acting, but I'm not sure if it was just that her character was bland, or if it was truly bad acting. Can't wait for next week!
