BLURB
He’s a convict.
I am the prized daughter of a family known for their name.
We always knew it couldn’t work, but that didn’t mean we wouldn’t try.
But when we did, it was all torn apart.
He was locked away.
And I was helpless to stop the mass destruction that followed.
He was wicked to my heart.
And just like poison, the effects can be dangerous.

MY REVIEW
It's been 5 long years since Rylee's seen the love of her life, August. She's moved past whatever it was they had (or so she tries to convince herself), thinking she'll never see him again. Then one day he's just there. No one's more surprised to see him than she is. She's got something to tell him, something she had tried to tell him after he left, but she literally couldn't find him. She hired private investigators and everything, and never once found a trace of him. Now he's back. How will he (and she) react to the big reveal?
The conclusion to Rylee and August's story was not quite what I had been expecting. Not that I didn't enjoy it, because I did. It was just less intense and much calmer than I had been expecting, given how crazy My Beautiful Poison was. I like the way they came back together, though, how much each had grown, especially August, and I could feel their love, their love that had always been there even while they were apart. I wish there had been an epilogue, though, and it's the main reason for 4 rather than 5 stars.

Review: Waiting for You by Kate McBrien

Review of Waiting for You by Kate McBrien Justin and Lucy are apart, but for how long? Lucy's staying with her parents, but knows she needs to get out and start living her life again. But when she gets a chance to go to London, it just may be her chance to reunite with the man whose soul has been entwined with hers for centuries upon centuries. But first, our two fated lovers will have to not only reunite, but stay together, beat the odds and the people and/or forces who are trying to keep them apart. Waiting for You is a great followup to Discovering You. Justin and Lucy's story is exciting and passionate, and the mystical/fantasy/paranormal aspect just adds another interesting layer to their already wonderful connection. I normally don't read a lot of paranormal/fantasy/sci-fi romance anymore, but I loved it here in Waiting for You. It's subtle, but ever present and as I said, just makes their story all the more intriguing. I can't wait for the conclusio...
