SYNOPSIS
Beckett Samuelson has had enough stepmothers to spot a gold digger when he sees one. So when his ailing father announces his engagement to the private nurse he’s only known for two months—who’s also forty years his junior—Beckett has to step in. But as he gets to know the woman, he realizes she’s the perfect next Mrs. Samuelson.

If only he was the intended groom.

Corazon Dela Cruz sends every spare penny she earns to her family in the Philippines. Then her latest nursing client offers her $25,000 to fake an engagement to convince his overprotective son to return to work abroad—he doesn’t need Beckett’s help. But as Corazon and Beckett spend more time together—from picnics on the beach to galas in fancy dresses—she starts to develop very real feelings.

Too bad she’s engaged to the wrong Samuelson.
MY REVIEW
When Beckett comes back home to visit his ailing father, he's struck by the gorgeous woman who's caring for him now. He wants her but knowing she's his father's nurse, and knowing that he's not going to be staying long, has him trying to restrain himself. Will Cora be the one to heal his broken relationship with his father, all while letting him into her own heart? Or will he fly away back to Dubai leaving both his father and Cora with broken hearts?
When I first read the blurb for Over Her Wed Body I knew right away I had to read it. The main reason because the heroine is Filipina. I could hardly believe my eyes because I rarely find heroines of my own ethnicity in romance, other Asians occasionally, but Filipinas? Rarely. So I'm doubly glad that fact drew me in because this story turned out to be well worth the read. It's sweet and charming, and Cora and Beckett, especially Cora, are strong, loving characters. Beckett's dad Chester deserves a mention too because he's awesome. If not for all his fun shenanigans and scheming, Cora and Beckett never would have met and fallen in love.

Review: One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti

Review of One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti ONE LITTLE LIE Hollis is a good girl with a crush on a broody musician. Unfortunately, that boy, Adam, hates her. Why? Because the chip on his shoulder leaves him thinking good girl, rich girl Hollis is a lemming like everyone else in their small town. Which makes it even more unfortunate when years after their high school encounter, Hollis' best friend tries to stick up for her and ends up telling her parents that Adam is the the boyfriend Hollis doesn't actually have. Oops. How will Hollis ever convince Adam to go along with her little lie? I really liked One Little Lie. Hollis is a really naive girl, but she has such a huge heart that I couldn't help but fall in love with her spirit. She's so sweet, so compassionate, the kind of person this world needs more of. Adam, on the other hand, eh, he didn't do much for me. His chip on the shoulder, broody asshole attitude did nothing to endear me to him, but because H...

Coming back to my small Wyoming hometown was supposed to be temporary. I only planned to stay long enough to help my ailing mother and sort through the mess of my family’s old belongings. Instead, I somehow ended up living in Evan Ricci’s house. The single dad now owned a bunch of properties and one of them was the place I’d rented. He’d taken it off the market and moved in before I got there. I just never got the memo. Unfortunately, there was no other place in town available, so Evan let me stay. Evan—the guy my parents took in years a...
