Will a marriage of convenience for Viviana the governor's daughter and Matteo the mob boss get them what they want, or even more when actual feelings start developing? Feelings neither expected, and certainly one of them doesn't seem to want.
Matteo wants control of his territory, so when he hears his cousin is planning on seizing even more power by marrying the governor's daughter, he takes it upon himself to marry her himself. But the question for Viviana is, is Matteo really the lesser of two evils? Or is he just as bad or even worse, than that sleazy cousin? Viviana has always wanted to be her own person but has always been controlled by her father. So to seize some of her own power and control of her life, she decides to marry Matteo. Will it stay a marriage in name only or will the cold, ruthless man become her everything?

Matteo was definitely a ruthless king. Cold and menacing and unfeeling. Until Viviana came into his life. But even then, he didn't really change, just fell, first in lust, then much later, in love. I kinda wanted better for Viviana, I'll be honest, because he wasn't that good to her for the longest time. I do appreciate that he eventually fell hard for her, and I thought she was the star of her own story. Like any good Mafia romance, Ruthless Monarch is suspenseful, steamy, and the alpha has his heart thawed by the love of a great woman.
