He’d hated me first, so I figured it was only fair I hate the stupid, sexy jerk back.
After ending the world’s worst relationship, Marin Grey had sworn off men. So it was rather inconvenient that she couldn’t seem to keep her eyes and thoughts off the Ice King himself, Pierce Walton—also known as her ex-boyfriend’s older, much hotter brother.
He was cold, callous, and rude. He was also the most gorgeous man she’d ever laid eyes on, which made the fact that he’d hated her from first sight all the more unfair.
When circumstances dictate they put their swords away so Marin can help Pierce take care of his son, that ice-cold hate suddenly takes a turn into something much hotter. And if they aren’t careful, they could both be burned alive.
**Whiskey Dolls is a brand-new series of interconnected, standalone, small town romances.**

MY REVIEW
Marin's cooking class isn't going well. Then she sees her asshole ex's brother in her class, and she's thrown and the class becomes even worse. She may have been irrationally attracted to him when she first met him all those years ago, but he shut her down quickly with his ice cold, rude behavior. He's not known as the Ice King for no reason. But when she actually finds herself speaking to him when their instructor pairs them together, yes, he seems cold as usual, but there's a spark of something there. Perhaps he's not the cold jerk she had always thought. Perhaps he doesn't hate her like she had always gotten the impression he did.
Since Pierce lost his wife, he's been living for his son, and working. Then the bright light that is his brother's ex, Marin, comes back into his life, and he's starting to smile again, starting to find the joy he thought he'd never feel again. But, he has to school himself because he's not capable of love again, so what he and Marin have must stay no strings fun, one day at a time pleasure. If he allows himself to love again, and he loses that person, he won't be able to deal. So keeping Marin in his bed and his life, but out of his heart is the only way to do this. Right?
I love the Hope Valley series, so the fact that this is a spinoff made me even more excited to read it. I'm very happy to say it didn't just meet my expectations, it exceeded them, in spades. Marin is a bright light, the biggest sweetheart with the biggest heart, perfect for moody, broody Pierce. He just needed someone to come into his grey world and lighten up all the dark corners. I loved it, loved them, and am so excited to read all the coming stories in this world.

Born and raised around Houston Texas, Jessica spent most of her life complaining about the heat, humidity, and all around pain in the ass weather. It was only as an adult that she quickly realized the cost of living in Houston made up for not being able to breathe when she stepped outside. That’s why God created central air, after all.
Jessica is the mother of a perfect little boy–she refuses to accept that he inherited her attitude and sarcastic nature no matter what her husband says.
In addition to being a wife and mom, she’s also a wino, a coffee addict, and an avid lover of all types of books–romances still being her all time favs. Her husband likes to claim that reading is her obsession but she just says it’s a passion…there’s a difference. Not that she’d expect a boy to understand.
Jessica has been writing since she was a little girl, but thankfully grew out of drawing her own pictures for her stories before ever publishing her first book. Because an artist she is not.
