Review / Release Blast: Falling for the Villain by M. Robinson and Rachel Van Dyken

Release Date: June 22

From Wall Street Journal & USA Today Bestselling Author M. Robinson & #1 NYT Bestselling Author Rachel Van Dyken comes a full length, standalone dark romance novel.

Those four words whispered in my ear again and again until I craved what I used to fear.
Such a simple demand from my captor—the man who stole me and refused to tell me why he wouldn’t let me go.

I was his.

He made me need him, just as much as he needed me.
I broke all the rules of the golden prison he put me in.

During the day he ruled his dark, seedy world.
His subjects and me.

During the night—he bowed before my feet.

Have you ever wondered what happened to the villains in all the fairy tales you read?
You’ll soon find out.

It all started when he kidnapped me and made me his pet.
And it all ended with me…

Calling him master.

*This story is not for the faint of heart and may be uncomfortable for some readers. But, then again, stepping outside of your comfort zone may be exactly the thing you need…

MY REVIEW
Juliet's a mafia princess kept in a gilded cage. While playing the piano, Dominic sees her and becomes obsessed with having her. To achieve that end, he takes her and breaks her down, forms her into his pet. Yep. This is THAT KIND of story, and I was mostly here for it.

Why mostly and not completely? Well, I may have not liked alpha hole of all alpha holes Donovan all that much, although he sorta redeemed himself by the end. I loved Juliet, though, she's sassy and fiery, and only submits because she can't help but do so. As far as Mafia romances go, this isn't the most Mafia-centric one I've read. As far as dark and twisted - definitely, especially the first half, though not the darkest out there by a long shot. The romance part isn't exactly romantic, hot as hell, yes, not too romantic, but that's to be expected I guess. All in all, I appreciated this deviation from Rachel's usual, and pairing up with Robinson really works for her, for both of them because this is a very entertaining, seriously hot story in a fascinating world.

Review: One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti

Review of One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti ONE LITTLE LIE Hollis is a good girl with a crush on a broody musician. Unfortunately, that boy, Adam, hates her. Why? Because the chip on his shoulder leaves him thinking good girl, rich girl Hollis is a lemming like everyone else in their small town. Which makes it even more unfortunate when years after their high school encounter, Hollis' best friend tries to stick up for her and ends up telling her parents that Adam is the the boyfriend Hollis doesn't actually have. Oops. How will Hollis ever convince Adam to go along with her little lie? I really liked One Little Lie. Hollis is a really naive girl, but she has such a huge heart that I couldn't help but fall in love with her spirit. She's so sweet, so compassionate, the kind of person this world needs more of. Adam, on the other hand, eh, he didn't do much for me. His chip on the shoulder, broody asshole attitude did nothing to endear me to him, but because H...
