BLURB
I’m the smart girl with my nose constantly in a book. The one with the level head who never breaks the rules…until I do.

And wouldn’t you know, the one person who knows about my case of ๐ญ๐ž๐ฆ๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐š๐ซ๐ฒ ๐ซ๐ž๐›๐ž๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข๐จ๐ง is the last one I’d ever want to find out.

Gabe Fuller might be Savage River High’s class clown, but as far as I’m concerned, he’s a ๐ฏ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐š๐ข๐ง ๐ข๐ง ๐๐ข๐ฌ๐ ๐ฎ๐ข๐ฌ๐ž. Once upon a time, I gave him my heart, but our ending was no fairytale.

As the keeper of my ๐๐š๐ซ๐ค๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ ๐ฌ๐ž๐œ๐ซ๐ž๐ญ, Gabe thinks he owns me. I’ll play along because I have no other choice, but I’ll never bow, and I definitely won’t fall…no matter how good his hands feel on my curves.

MY REVIEW
Penelope does not do second chances. She doesn't let people back in once they've betrayed her or broken her trust. So Gabe's got his work cut out for him to not only get her to tutor him, but, more significantly, to let him back into her heart. You see, he devastated her freshman year, and she's not looked twice at him since. But now he needs tutoring and Penelope's the smartest person he knows. With a bit of *cough* manipulation, she will certainly see things his way...Or will she?

Pen is keeping a big thing to herself. It's given her a fear she never had before. But that's not the only thing wrong these days. Now the boy who ripped her heart out freshman year is back in her life demanding she tutor him. There's not a chance she'll ever forgive Gabe, or let him back into her life. No matter how much he demands it, or how much he manipulates her. Right?

I've kinda put a moratorium on high school bully fiction, but I couldn't resist once I read the blurb, and I'm glad, because Burn it Down is great. Penelope is one tough girl, with walls not even a lot of adults have managed to build around themselves. She made Gabe work his ass off to get her back, to win her heart over again. I wasn't sure at first that Gabe was going to end up being good enough for her, considering how badly he hurt her, and his inner thoughts were pretty selfish at first; but he more than redeemed himself and I could see just why Penelope had such strong feelings for him. His backstory is pretty tragic, as was hers, and the two of them are perfect for each other. I loved Pen and Gabe so much that I plan on definitely going back and reading the first two stories in this series now.

Review: One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti

Review of One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti ONE LITTLE LIE Hollis is a good girl with a crush on a broody musician. Unfortunately, that boy, Adam, hates her. Why? Because the chip on his shoulder leaves him thinking good girl, rich girl Hollis is a lemming like everyone else in their small town. Which makes it even more unfortunate when years after their high school encounter, Hollis' best friend tries to stick up for her and ends up telling her parents that Adam is the the boyfriend Hollis doesn't actually have. Oops. How will Hollis ever convince Adam to go along with her little lie? I really liked One Little Lie. Hollis is a really naive girl, but she has such a huge heart that I couldn't help but fall in love with her spirit. She's so sweet, so compassionate, the kind of person this world needs more of. Adam, on the other hand, eh, he didn't do much for me. His chip on the shoulder, broody asshole attitude did nothing to endear me to him, but because H...

Coming back to my small Wyoming hometown was supposed to be temporary. I only planned to stay long enough to help my ailing mother and sort through the mess of my family’s old belongings. Instead, I somehow ended up living in Evan Ricci’s house. The single dad now owned a bunch of properties and one of them was the place I’d rented. He’d taken it off the market and moved in before I got there. I just never got the memo. Unfortunately, there was no other place in town available, so Evan let me stay. Evan—the guy my parents took in years a...
