Stevie Foster thought her happy ever after would come easily after saying “I do” to her high school sweetheart at nineteen.
But twelve years later, she finds herself divorced, settling into a new home, in a new town, with a new job as an elementary teacher trying to pick up the pieces as she goes.
On top of struggling to cope with the future she always wanted versus the one she’s been dealt, she soon realizes that her new neighbor is a strict, stone-faced man she’s all too familiar with.
Lieutenant Colonel Fletcher Miller.
The man once in charge of her ex-husband’s unit.
And as if the reminder across the street of what she lost wasn’t painful enough, she also becomes his young son’s teacher.
A single dad. A divorcee. A second chance at love neither knew they’d get.

MY REVIEW
Stevie's out in the world as a divorced woman, trying to reconcile what she had thought her world would be, and what it is now. She's bought a home and gotten a new job. Then she recognizes her new neighbor - her ex husband's former CO. Fletcher is as stern and stoic as she had remembered, and she really doesn't want to be around him, him being a reminder of the ex who did her so wrong. But she can't seem to get totally away from him considering he's not only her neighbor, but she's ended up being his son's teacher. How will she ever get away from the memories of her past if Fletcher is there reminding her?
Make You Miss Me is really a story about Stevie's journey. Fletcher and his son, standouts, especially Dominic, are props of a sort to Stevie's journey, but they didn't feel extraneous, rather, complementary and necessary to her growth. The romance is slow burn, but by the time they actually connected, whew!! Hot! I really enjoyed reading as Stevie grew a ton, she got to tell of her douchey ex, and she fell in love with a wonderful man and his blunt, straightforward son. I also really liked the realistic portrayal of Dominic, his autism wasn't romanticized or over-dramatized, nor did Fletcher or Stevie treat him differently, or badly, they just treated him as all children should be treated - with dignity, compassion and love. This story was so great that I am very much a fan of the author's now, and am looking forward to much more of her writing.
