Review Tour: Outflanking the Flanker & Capturing the Captain (Love 'n' Sports - Rugby #1 & #2) by Nicole Phoenix

All's fair in Love and Sports...until it isn't.

OUTFLANKING THE FLANKER
Confident travel writer Chloe Maclane has no intention of falling for a fling. Not even in the city of love. Then professional rugby flanker and businessman Andrew Bourgatti literally knocks her off her feet.

Fiery chemistry forces Chloe and Andrew to change their game plan, but there’s another player who’s competing to win, no matter who gets hurt.

Is it possible to find love halfway around the world…twice? And what will they have to sacrifice to keep it? Follow their story from Paris, France, to Sydney, Australia, and find out!

CAPTURING THE CAPTAIN
Lacey King, a wealthy Aussie heiress, has everything she could need or want, except friends. Sick of being used for her money and power, she’s withdrawn from society to focus on charities when her American cousin calls in a favor. Now, thanks to one six-and-a-half-foot tall, god-like, beefcake of a man, Lacey’s relatively simple life is about to get complicated.

Cleat Walker has always been the golden boy of rugby. Tall, good looking, and captain his team, he pretty much gets what and who he wants. When everything goes south Down Under, he finds himself in the care of a sexy, entitled redhead who’s determined to do dangerous charity work alone. Not on Cleat’s watch.

Sparks and tempers heat up as Lacey and Cleat travel the Outback, where crocodiles aren’t the most deadly things in the bush.

MY REVIEW
Outflanking the Flanker
Chloe's quite disgusted to hear the hotel has lost her reservation. Then a wall of muscle runs into her and turns her world upside down and inside out.

Andrew's in Australia for a rugby game when he literally runs into the most gorgeous woman he's ever seen. He wants her immediately, and thanks to the hotel's mess-up, he gets the chance to take her to dinner. But can a travel writer and a professional rugby player make anything work, especially when one of them leaves the other in Paris?

Outflanking the Flanker is sweet and hot, and I loved them together. I gotta say that the ending anxiety inducing, though! Thank God things worked out, though, and lead into Capturing the Captain.

Capturing the Captain
Cleat, Andrew's friend and team captain, is enamored of the gorgeous redhead, Lacey. She seems familiar, but he can't wrap his head around why. Being drunk out of his mind doesn't help, but he couldn't resist. What happened to his friend and teammate, Andrew, really put him in a funk and now he's not only let his team down, but he's messed up his chance with the sassy beauty who kindly saved him. When he finds out Lacey's determined to go traipsing the Outback alone to do some charity work, he invites himself along. He's not about to let her put her in danger by going alone. But will close confines allow their attraction to be consummated?

Lacey's got walls sky high, but Cleat's sweet and protective personality seem to be scaling those walls well. Will she allow him in completely? Or will her natural defenses guide her behavior at the last minute, and hurt him beyond redemption?

Capturing the Captain, like Outflanking the Flanker, is sweet and hot. I liked Lacey's sassy, tough personality, well, I did until the end when she was a complete bitch because she let her defenses get the best of her. She made up for it, though, and Cleat's forgiving personality was no match for her grand gesture. Speaking of Cleat, he's my favorite part of this installment. A big slab of muscle with an equally big heart, charm to spare, and and one dirty mouth. Lacey is a lucky, lucky woman!

Review: One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti

Review of One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti ONE LITTLE LIE Hollis is a good girl with a crush on a broody musician. Unfortunately, that boy, Adam, hates her. Why? Because the chip on his shoulder leaves him thinking good girl, rich girl Hollis is a lemming like everyone else in their small town. Which makes it even more unfortunate when years after their high school encounter, Hollis' best friend tries to stick up for her and ends up telling her parents that Adam is the the boyfriend Hollis doesn't actually have. Oops. How will Hollis ever convince Adam to go along with her little lie? I really liked One Little Lie. Hollis is a really naive girl, but she has such a huge heart that I couldn't help but fall in love with her spirit. She's so sweet, so compassionate, the kind of person this world needs more of. Adam, on the other hand, eh, he didn't do much for me. His chip on the shoulder, broody asshole attitude did nothing to endear me to him, but because H...
